Run - Trail 1:30:01 intensity: (1:01 @0) + (36:24 @1) + (42:52 @2) + (9:44 @3) 14.45 km (6:14 / km) +382m 5:30 / km

Was goings to be a SEDS long run into the hills but snow, windy and low visibility put an end to that idea. A bit disappointing but the best decision, especially as I'm still really not well enough to be struggling up mountains.

While the rest froze their extremities in bogs and streams on O maps I opted for a relatively easy jog on trails along the side of Loch Etive - how can wind be in your face on both directions of an out and back run?

Run - Terrain 28:55 [2] 3.07 km (9:25 / km) +153m 7:32 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons 11

Run from the ferry to the start of the training on Kerrera. proved to be quite a long way with a lot of heather!

Run - Orienteering 26:02 [3] 2.77 km (9:23 / km) +101m 7:57 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons 11

Felt like I wanted to run a bit more for this but I started hacking up my lungs as soon as I did. Took it nice and easy after that but still wasn't feeling great. Nice area though, all open with lots of contours and (if you were in a grazed area) some nice running, not much rock detail though. My first Scottish island.

Run - Terrain 22:12 [2] 2.93 km (7:35 / km) +36m 7:09 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons 11

Run back from the orienteering to the ferry. Didn't have a map of the route and when I found myself on top of the highest point of the island I knew that I'd gone slightly wrong! Actually avoided most of the heather with this route though. Last back!

EckO Christmas event. Nice wee plantation forest which was very soggy but clean under foot and with low visibility. Had a race with Tessa as I couldn't run hard at all (and even going slow my heart rate was up). Got ahead in the butterflies (before being spooked by a miniature singing Santa at the next control!) and didn't see her after that. Fun but frustrating at not being able to run hard - the boys were way ahead.

Run - Trail 34:21 intensity: (27 @0) + (12:55 @1) + (14:13 @2) + (6:41 @3) + (5 @4) 4.6 km (7:28 / km) +128m 6:34 / km
ahr:132 max:161 shoes: VJ Falcons 11

Short jog around Polmaise at lunchtime to see if the body works. It was okay as long as I kept it slow. Ran with the map taking a few routes through the rhodos that I haven't been on before.

Mapping 45:00 [0]

Thought I was up early this morning but it turned out I slept in. Oops! Eventually made it out in time for a bit of rain... Finished the nice bit of wood (4.30) and only have the landscaped mining areas to do now (not so interesting), got rained on again and it was cold so called it a day. Cough improving, will jog tomorrow I hope.

Mapping 1:15:00 [0]

Wasn't expecting much of the day so didn't start out with the intention of doing any mapping. Weather was looking good so ventured out for what was left of the daylight (5.45 hours), some nice bits, some rough bits and some very nice bits today, plus found a mattress; not missing much to be completely comfortable now.

Note

Not a bad day for Scotland (wet, windy and cold) but decided to stay indoors anyways. Cough still staying put as well.

Mapping 1:15:00 [0]

5 hours in Falkirk, mostly really nice stuff, including Roughcastle Roman fort - it was just like the ones in Asterix! Saw a group of workers changing a drainage pipe under the path, there were 6 of them, 1 working the digger and 5 watching him (no one watching for pedestrians), each with van of their own. Efficient?
Here's the bit of map around the wheel, how good does it look!!!
6 PM

Run - Road 5:02 intensity: (1:35 @0) + (1:14 @1) + (55 @2) + (1:18 @3) 0.64 km (7:50 / km)

Down to circuits with Lard. Not nice out.

Pilates 35:21 intensity: (34:35 @0) + (46 @1) 2.13 km (16:35 / km) +48m 14:54 / km
ahr:70 max:120

Lard taking it easy on us this evening which was for me at least, most welcome.

Pilates 19:56 intensity: (2:38 @0) + (13:52 @1) + (2:55 @2) + (15 @3) + (16 @4) 0.79 km (25:18 / km) +2m 24:59 / km
ahr:115 max:168 shoes: Asics Gel GT 1120 07

As still far from full health I took these very easy, trying to keep the heart rate down. Seemed to have worked.
