Started out feeling a little heavy legged as per yesterday but once again I started feeling most excellent and there were times (if only short bits) that I actually felt like I was floating. That is why I like and want to be fit. Very nearly didn’t make it out as I was I residing nicely on the couch all afternoon watching triathlon and athletics, so very glad that I did though. Also very nice to see all the data the gps brings up. 666 days since my accident!

Sorted the watch out so had to go for a run! Heavy legs starting but moving quite nicely, then a really strange thing happened; I actually felt good running and was moving even more nicely. Very much enjoyed the run. Ankle bothered me a little on the steep decent into Porter but otherwise I just felt good. Maybe a bit of recovery time is what my body was after?

Note
(rest day)

Realising that I actually have quite a lot to sort out before I move out in August and not much time to do it. Somewhere to live seems like a good priority, maybe I’ll get to that when I get all these others bit sorted…
New toy in a GPS today. Unfortunately no time to learn how to play with it.

Mapping 2:30:00 [0]
shoes: Asics Trabuco 12 WR

Mapping in Sussex (11 hours). Up early to beat the rain. It worked. For 20 minutes… Wet by 7.30 :-( Horrible morning, consistent heavy showers and lots of rhodos. Afternoon improved with better weather and less rhodos. Still got wet though. A least I managed to get it all finished. Long drive home.

Mapping 30:00 [0]
shoes: Asics Trabuco 12 WR

Mapping in Sussex (2 hours). Long drive on stiff legs and sore arms (after getting hepatitis and TBE vaccinations - TBE vaccine cost £7 and then the surgery charged £50 to inject it! Wish I’d known this as I collected it from the chemist myself and could easily have got my sister to do the jab. Anyone else needing one though; ask for a prescription and say that you can collect it from the chemist yourself). Was hoping to get an evening mapping it but it started pissing rain by 7.

Run - Terrain 2:55:00 [3] 25.6 km (6:50 / km) +950m 5:46 / km
shoes: Adidas Kanadia TR2

Think that I may have made up for last week lethargism. Out with the CFD and Danger again for their SLMM training. This time in terrain though; from Snakes Pass over to Kinder and then straight to Cocks Hill (to check out the mines) and back via Bleaklow. Ace day, very warm and felt good for most of it, much better with carrying water today but still couldn’t keep anywhere near the boys on the big climbs. Completely knackered now though, not helped by Danger decided to do the last 3km at sub three and a half minute pace. Could have done without that! The CFD likes sheep.

Run - Trail 2:51:05 [2] 30.0 km (5:42 / km) +600m 5:11 / km
weight:68.6kg shoes: Asics Gel GT 1120 07

Long run in the White Peak with Danger and the CFD, out Monsal way. Not been there before and had wanted to explore for some time. First half had lots of styles, fields and cows while the end followed the dale all the way back to Monsal Head. Very enjoyable run (though once is probably enough), pace was nice and felt good for all apart from the last 30 minutes. The CFD was delayed somewhat on the final climb due to technical difficulties.
