Note
(injured)

Spent a good bit of the day mapping Bowden Houseteds; nice but not all that big and so much vegetation to map. Back not happy with the extending standing time.

slept:6.0 weight:72.8kg (injured) shoes: Asics 2140

Beautiful mild and sunny morning, was expecting rain so didn’t go mapping but it didn’t turn up until the evening. Legs were k-nackered at the start but got moving a little better later on, but were still stiff. A least I feel like I can run at the moment even when I am this tired.
What happened to April?

Run - Orienteering race 40:44 [3] 5.6 km (7:16 / km)

SYO evening event at Silkstone. A bit of a trek and a little dam but well worth it. Cracking little bit of wood with enough going on to keep you interested. Very much enjoyed but legs were still well in the complaint mode so moving slowly, but had a good tussle with Ash through most of the course.

The cfd leant the hard way that you can’t push a trolley up a down travelator…

Run - Trail 10:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)
(injured) shoes: Inov8 2009

Warm up jog in the rain with Ash

A bike ride!!! Yep, first since August, and an odd feeling it was too. Cycling has always been so easy and natural and yet today I found myself feeling very apprehensive, but I’m sure that the best thing is just to get out there and do it.

I was starting to get the message that I shouldn’t go out at all, as my tyres were flat, and once I got them pumped the pad came off one of my discs while putting the wheel in. Lots of faff to change. Then the rear hub wouldn’t move, completely seized, took ages to get it free during which time another pad came out. Eventually set out an hour later.

Was on the mountain bike as the cycling position is more comfortable than the road, but even then it only took 15 minutes for my back to start aching. Haven’t had this from running for some while now so it wasn’t too nice to be reminded again. Just went up to the top of Porter and back again, legs dead and they didn’t know how to respond to cycling on hills at all. Great to be out and on a bike though

Very tired from the weekend so having a complete rest day – have discovered that it takes a lot longer to recover when you’re unfit.
