Run - Trail warm up/down 12:00 [2] 2.0 km (6:00 / km) +20m 5:43 / km
shoes: VJ Falcon 07

Warm up along wet tracks and fields.

Run - Orienteering race 53:25 [5] ** 9.5 km (5:37 / km) +100m 5:21 / km
spiked:24/24c shoes: VJ Falcon 07

Had to get the old man to an O event before he headed to the O desert that is the Pyrenees, the only candidate turned out to be a local event put on by the mighty LEI near Ashby-da-la-zouch. Not a quality event; part of the 'National Forest' whatsit which meant that it was a lot of field with little trees in - will be lovely in 20 years but today it was an easy run around wet and slippery fields with loads of knee high trees. Not a great map or planning but a good chance to try and run a bit harder than usual - also my last chance to take advantage of student entry fees :(.

Note

Busy helping parent's faff around all day; didn't have time to run in the light and wasn't in the mood for a road run in the dark.

Note
(rest day)

After feeling flat for the past few days thought that a complete rest day would be a good idea (apart from the 30 minute walk to and from work). Need to crank it up for the weekend.

Run - Road 44:30 [1] 6.5 km (6:51 / km) +150m 6:08 / km
rhr:43 slept:7.5 weight:69.5kg shoes: Asics 2120

Short loop around Rivelin with Faye in the dark. Was planning on going a bit further up the valley but the battery died on Faye's light so changed direction and came up heroes instead. Slow but still felt utter pants :(

Graduation today so no longer really a student. Has been fun but probably about time that I reintegrated into the real world, now all I need is a job!

Run - Road 41:10 [2] 8.2 km (5:01 / km) +190m 4:30 / km
shoes: Asics 2120

Run home from work in the dark. Headed up Eccy road but wasn't feeling so great so decided on a shorter loop; cut across to Fulwood and took the high road back to Crosspool. Lower bits of my calfs not at all happy, although the rest of me felt fine. No idea what they're called but it's sort of the bit from the ankle bone to the bottom of the calf muscle and it just felt painful, particularly on hills. Has happened before but I have never given it any thought. Will keep try and remember in case it happens again.

Run - Trail 1:07:10 [2] 13.4 km (5:01 / km) +200m 4:40 / km
shoes: Asics Trabuco 10 WR

Morning run from Faye's. Explored to the north; was nice. Some lovely patches of wood but a few more hills than and I was wanting. Felt tired and not quite awake so very slow.

Run - Trail 1:10:50 [3] 15.8 km (4:29 / km) +115m 4:20 / km
shoes: Asics Trabuco 10 WR

Run along the canal and back along the river in Leeds. Canal had ΒΌ mile posts so took splits along the way to add interest to otherwise quite a repetitive section of the run :1.45, 1.46, 1.42, 1.45, 1.44, 1.44, 1.45, 1.44, 1.44, 1.44, 1.45, 1.44. Interesting exercise and gave me an idea of a steady pace, but how do road runners go through this every day? Riverside path was super slippery but was still a little quicker than last time I ran this loop despite finding the climb at the end hard work.
