Warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcons

Made a better effort at warming up today but somehow forgot about the warming down bit.

Run - Orienteering race 40:05 [5] *** 6.5 km (6:10 / km) +110m 5:41 / km
spiked:21/22c shoes: VJ Falcons

BOC relays. Ran with Andy L and OJ for ShUOC 1. Andy L really did the buisness on the first leg coming back just over a minute down on SYO (favorites?), I had Nick B to chase down and was surprised to catch him by number 4. Nick sat behind me for the next few km's and tried to get away on the way to the spectator, however I got better running and route and managed to stay ahead. Didn't have the strenght on the final hill or marsh to keep up with him though and lost about 20 seconds. Pretty happy with the run, was much easier to read the 1:10000 map (even on waterproof paper) and only had one few second wobble and had to re-punch the spectator control as the until wasn't beeping and I didn't want to take a chance. OJ also had an amazing run to chase down and pass Nails for the victory. Great effort by the whole team.

Run - Orienteering race 1:36:00 [5] ***** 14.1 km (6:49 / km) +360m 6:02 / km
spiked:20/32c shoes: VJ Falcons

BOC classic, Pwll Du, South Wales. Area was much better than I was expecting and not quite as fast. Rough in sections but the majority was clean, not too steep either. Old mine working with lots of small detail that was impossible to read on the 1:15000 map. Had the most scrappy run that I've had for years, lost the best part of 4 minutes in silly things (two bad route choices and controls that I just couldn't see) and a further three in three very stupid mistakes. The type of area that everyone was going to lose time on though so was quite happy with my position (7th, 10 minutes down on OJ) if not my run. Ran okay but never felt strong, had plenty of energy when I finished.

Warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Didn't leave enough time to warm up as well as I should have and had sore toes at the end so never got as far as warming down.

Run - Trail 56:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Redmires to Burbage mines and back along Stanedge edge. Beautiful day. Slow run with Matt, still felt a bit tired but probably more to do with lack of exercise over the past few days.

(rest day)

Should have gone for a run. Wanted to work instead but ended up doing neither. Don't feel good about it.

Circuits 45:00 [4]

Well tired this evening, none of my body was up for it. Took it as easy as I could without copping out. Lovely day but spent all of it in the studio - this weather better last past the end of term...
