Run - Orienteering race 1:41:54 [5] *** 15.9 km (6:25 / km) +640m 5:20 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons

JK Day 2. Long classic, though not as tough as i was expecting. Course started out in a steep hilly section but got much flatter for the end. Didn't feel as if I had any speed at any time during the run so again was surprised to finish 8th (also overall). Again the map had quite a few holes in it where the mapping wasn't up to standard, escpecially ditches and depressions. Didn't lose much time, just a few misses right at the end when the controls were hidden in pits. Well tired at the end but not hurting.

Run - Orienteering race 35:46 [5] 6.2 km (5:46 / km) +240m 4:50 / km

JK day 1. Middle distance. First time running in the Forest of Dean. Not a bad area but not very difficult - made two quite big mistakes (30-40 seconds each) at the start as I'm just not used to vague navigating (map was also rubbish). Finished 13th, which I was surprised at after losing so much time. Ran fairly well thought and kept going up the steep hills.

Event: JK 2007

Run - Orienteering race 13:51 [5] 4.0 km (3:28 / km) +70m 3:11 / km
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

JK Sprint race. Bristol university campus. Very fast and quite easy. Not used to Sprint racing but had not problems other than with speed. Finished 20th I think which is about as good as I could expect in this type of terrain.

Run - Trail 38:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Short slow run with Shane from Redmires along Stanedge to the trig point and back. Calves felt awful, tight and didn't want to join in the fun on what was another smashing day.

Note
(rest day)

Spent all day working on an essay. Got a lot of it done but missed running on a beautiful day.

Run - Road 35:30 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Roads and alleys out to Fulwood via Carsick and back. Jogged along quite happily, felt fine but didn't put any effort in.

Bike - Mountain 2:30:00 [0]

Very, very, very slow cycle around Derwent and Howden Res with Hay. Too slow to put in here really but I didn't do anything else, so...
