Note
(rest day)

Not used to so much exercise after the past few weeks so was due an easy day...

Wednesday May 30, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering 58:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Falcon 07

Course on Tir na S, Very wet, some new planting and fences and some round ground. Lot of fun though. I love this terrain.

Tuesday May 29, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Falcon 07

Ran most of the world cup coursr on Crohane with Boyzone and RobB. Dead tired from yesterday (especially going down hill) so pace was fairly slow. Cracking day thought and the mountain was dry and burnt so about as fast as it can get.

Warm up/down 30:00 [1]
shoes: VJ Falcons

Hike up and down Crohane to get to the terrain.

Monday May 28, 2007 #

Run - Terrain 4:30:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Falcon 07

Reeks ridge with Toni's wedding party. Ran with RobB for most of it starting up Beenkerragh and also scooting across to bag Cahar. Amazing day, high clouns but could see forever. Legs gave up on the last descent but were grand apart from that. Lots of stopping and staring though.

Sunday May 27, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:09:00 [2]
shoes: Ascis Gel GT 2110

Run around Muckross lake with Jase, Cath, Aislinn and Johnny. Somewhat sunnier than yesterday, lovely day to be out and about. Slow pace - still breaking in new shoes.

Saturday May 26, 2007 #

Note

Toni and Andy's wedding. Really nice and a great day, however drove most the night to get there so was of little use and had no intention of going for a run.

Friday May 25, 2007 #

Note

Thought that I'd finish early and have a half day to do other things, however, things went badly wrong with my assignments and spent all day fixing things :-(

Thursday May 24, 2007 #

Note

All day at the computer, will be done soon though....

Wednesday May 23, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering race 45:30 [3] 4.5 km (10:07 / km)
shoes: Inov8

Loxley evening event. Had no interest in running as I'm not in training mode at the moment, jogged around the Norwegain event and got lost many times. Beautiful evening but just not up for the fun.

Tuesday May 22, 2007 #

Note

Going to get through this work sometime....

Monday May 21, 2007 #

Circuits 45:00 [3]
shoes: Ascis Gel GT 2110

Felt really rubbish this evening - no energy (took it very easy).

Warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: Ascis Gel GT 2110

Sunday May 20, 2007 #

Run - Terrain 1:24:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Slow terrain (actually heather) run around Burbage with Little Rob, he was a bit tired from a fell race yesterday so the pace was nice and easy. Sunny and warm, what a smashing place to be :-)

Saturday May 19, 2007 #

Run - Trail 48:40 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Dropped straight down to Rivelin, up the valley to the footbridge and back up the bridleway and through the allotments. Such a smashing day to be out, everyonr one and eveyrhing happy :-)

Strength exercises 13:00 [4]

Friday May 18, 2007 #

Note

Another extension, no worries with handins now. Should have run but did some cleaning instead...

Thursday May 17, 2007 #

Note

Still working but not under so much pressure now

Monday May 14, 2007 #

Circuits 45:00 [4]

Felt okay this evening but hard work as there have been so few sessions recently.

Warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Jog down, warm up and down and jog back.

Sunday May 13, 2007 #

Run - Trail 51:50 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Black Tor and Derwent Edge with Boyzone. Couldn't keep up on the faster bits, legs just would not go any faster - should have felt better after such an easy week.

Saturday May 12, 2007 #

Note

Tried to work all day, didn't quite manage it (maybe a run would have been better use of my time than the Eurovision?)

Friday May 11, 2007 #

Note

Another day at the desk

Thursday May 10, 2007 #

Run - Trail 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

More of a 3+ in effort, straight down to Rivelin and back up the bridle way. Felt pretty good, but I should do after two days off. New shoes arrived at last.

Wednesday May 9, 2007 #

Note

Another 12 hours in uni...

Tuesday May 8, 2007 #

Note

No time today, spent 12 hours in the studio.

Monday May 7, 2007 #

Run - Trail 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Run down into Rivelin, up the river and back along the top via the bridleway. Further than I was planning but felt great, hardly any side effects from the weekend other than a little slow on hills.

Strength exercises 12:00 [3]

Sunday May 6, 2007 #

Warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcons

Made a better effort at warming up today but somehow forgot about the warming down bit.

Run - Orienteering race 40:05 [5] *** 6.5 km (6:10 / km) +110m 5:41 / km
spiked:21/22c shoes: VJ Falcons

BOC relays. Ran with Andy L and OJ for ShUOC 1. Andy L really did the buisness on the first leg coming back just over a minute down on SYO (favorites?), I had Nick B to chase down and was surprised to catch him by number 4. Nick sat behind me for the next few km's and tried to get away on the way to the spectator, however I got better running and route and managed to stay ahead. Didn't have the strenght on the final hill or marsh to keep up with him though and lost about 20 seconds. Pretty happy with the run, was much easier to read the 1:10000 map (even on waterproof paper) and only had one few second wobble and had to re-punch the spectator control as the until wasn't beeping and I didn't want to take a chance. OJ also had an amazing run to chase down and pass Nails for the victory. Great effort by the whole team.

Run - Orienteering race 1:36:00 [5] ***** 14.1 km (6:49 / km) +360m 6:02 / km
spiked:20/32c shoes: VJ Falcons

BOC classic, Pwll Du, South Wales. Area was much better than I was expecting and not quite as fast. Rough in sections but the majority was clean, not too steep either. Old mine working with lots of small detail that was impossible to read on the 1:15000 map. Had the most scrappy run that I've had for years, lost the best part of 4 minutes in silly things (two bad route choices and controls that I just couldn't see) and a further three in three very stupid mistakes. The type of area that everyone was going to lose time on though so was quite happy with my position (7th, 10 minutes down on OJ) if not my run. Ran okay but never felt strong, had plenty of energy when I finished.

Warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcons

Didn't leave enough time to warm up as well as I should have and had sore toes at the end so never got as far as warming down.

Thursday May 3, 2007 #

Run - Trail 56:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Redmires to Burbage mines and back along Stanedge edge. Beautiful day. Slow run with Matt, still felt a bit tired but probably more to do with lack of exercise over the past few days.

Wednesday May 2, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Should have gone for a run. Wanted to work instead but ended up doing neither. Don't feel good about it.
