Warm up/down warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcons

Run - Orienteering race 57:10 [5] ***** 7.9 km (7:14 / km) +415m 5:44 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons

BUSA individual. Steep and rough forest much to my liking, very hard to maintain a good pace (slippery and a lot of fallen trees). Section on open moor was somewhat more dull and more about speed. Map a bit doggy in areas and lost a few seconds on two controls because of this, good course though. FInished third less than 30 seconds behinf Oleg and a further 2 mins down on Oli. Happy with result there were quite a few runners quite close behind me.

Run - Trail 35:40 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Along the side of Rivelin. Felt a bit better than yesterday but still heavy and sluggish - will hopefully be feeling better tomorrow.

Thursday Mar 29, 2007 #

Run - Road 34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Quite an easy run around the hills in Carsick (exploring - very nice). Still feeling very flat, guess tow days of standing doesn't help.

Wednesday Mar 28, 2007 #

Walk 3:30:00 [0]

Finishing scout map

Tuesday Mar 27, 2007 #

Walk 6:00:00 [0]

Surveying scout camp in Cheshire

Monday Mar 26, 2007 #

Run - Trail 56:20 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Run up Black Tor and a loop around the back from Strines. Felt so flat today which was a shame as once the cloud burnt off it was a smashing day. Perhaps I need more protein or carbs in my diet and less sugar and fat...

Strength exercises 15:00 [3]

Sunday Mar 25, 2007 #

Warm up/down warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Run - Orienteering race 1:02:20 [5] 10.0 km (6:14 / km) +340m 5:20 / km

Orienteering near Leeds. Didn't feel great, a bit stiff after such a lazy week. Ran ok but without any agression. Quite a dull area, quite rough open and a steep bit of wood. Poor map and desperate printing.

Warm up/down warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Run into town via Matt's to get to the Showroom cinema.

Warm up/down 20:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Jog home after ShAFF race. More tired than I should have been.

Run - Orienteering race 1:01:00 [4] *
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

1 hour score around the city centre as part of ShAFF. Intoducede Matt to Oing, ran together. Difficult to ge any flow with so many short legs and answers to write down. Took a penalty and got all the controls, after all, it was for fun. It was No.8 right in the middle that was the only really awkward decision.

Friday Mar 23, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Assignemnet hand in. Knackered all day. No interest in goin for a run when I got home. Need to find a bit more motovation somewhere...

Thursday Mar 22, 2007 #

Wednesday Mar 21, 2007 #

Tuesday Mar 20, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:11:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Redmires to to Stanedge, Burbage, Lady Cannings and Burbage Mines. Desperatly cold and windy, felt rubbish with the wind behind me but got warmed up a bit running uphill into it.

Monday Mar 19, 2007 #

Circuits 45:00 [4]

Got on ok this evening but just didn't feeling like pushing hard. Maybe coz it was so freaking cold today - windy and hail. Nice

Warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Sunday Mar 18, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering race 58:50 [5] 9.6 km (6:08 / km) +360m 5:10 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons

CSC in Greno Woods. Cold, windy and snow showers. Fun... Ran fairly well after stuffing no1 up. Not as unpleasant as I was expecting, brambles generally quite low. Plenty of long climbs but a decent course. OJ was 3 minutes clear in the lead just under 56.

Warm up/down warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcons

Saturday Mar 17, 2007 #

Run - Trail 51:35 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Rivelin with Shane. Straight up the hill from the river. Felt flat for the first half but managed a decent effort on the hills. Had to get out to get rid of the frustration of the rugby results - a last minute try in both games cost the 6 nations.

Strength exercises 10:00 [4]

Nearly gave them a miss as I was spent from the last hill when I got home. Got on ok once I recovered though.

Thursday Mar 15, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:08:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Rivelin dam circuit (anti clock), had a bit more bounce this morning but still not feeling great. ANother nice day to be out in the woods though.

Wednesday Mar 14, 2007 #

Strength exercises 10:00 [3]

Run - Trail 47:50 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Dropped down into Rivelin, along the bottom and then back up the long bridle path. Felt a lot more tired than I was expecting, but it was such a beautiful morning that I just had to enjoy the run.

Tuesday Mar 13, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Worked late in uni, starving when I got home. Lazy really.

Monday Mar 12, 2007 #

Circuits 45:00 [4]

A bit tired from yesterday but not suffering. Cardio exercises were hard work and I bonked on the stomach ones, but a good session.

Warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Warm up, down and stretching for circuits

Run - Road 27:00 [2]

Run out to Ranmmor and back with Matt after circuits. Took a while to get going and was always slow, but felt better at the end.

Sunday Mar 11, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering race 59:00 [5] 9.2 km (6:25 / km) +320m 5:28 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons

National event, Whitbarrow, Lakes. Ran quite well considering how I felt yesterday and was shocked with position (4th, just over two minutes down on OJ), especially as I made a large mistake. The forest bit was awesome, the open very fast and easy.

Warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Steep jog up the hill to the start plus two km back to the finish.

Saturday Mar 10, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering race 29:10 [4] 4.3 km (6:47 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcons

Short race in Stockbird Head, Lakes. Ran reasonably but my heart beat was strange and I had no ooomph at all. Alos made a dead stupid mistake by following the north line from 15 torwards 4. Nice little wood but didn't enjoy it much.

Warm up/down warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Friday Mar 9, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Lazy again, cought still in the back of my throat though.

Thursday Mar 8, 2007 #

Note

Just plain lazy this evening although I do still have the dregs of the cold hanging around.

Wednesday Mar 7, 2007 #

Note
(rest day)

Not completley better from last week so taking it easy

Tuesday Mar 6, 2007 #

Run - Trail 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Redmires-Stanedge and Rivelin dams circuit with Matt. Tired and stiff from last night but ran ok once things woke up. Matt died at the end so did a few hill reps while I was waiting. Now tired all over...

Monday Mar 5, 2007 #

Warm up/down warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Usuall warming up and down for circuits with a bit of stretching.

Circuits 45:00 [4]

Still a bit off colour from last weeks cold, suffered on the arm exercises but in general wasn't too bad a session. Changed to doing 5 sets of exercises at each station in stead of 6, made it harder as there were more cardio ones and therefore more time spent out of breath.

Sunday Mar 4, 2007 #

Run - Orienteering race 1:07:30 [4] **** 9.8 km (6:53 / km) +385m 5:45 / km

Badge event near Marsden. Cold day and got colder when it started raining, luckily I was back a that stage. Felt slow and tired from last weeks cold but at least I wasn't hacking my guts up. Ran ok when the going was good but had no strenght for the tough bits.

Warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Jog to start (5 mins), coughing and not feeling good. Cleared once running. Jogged back to car park to keep warm as there was no bus waiting.

Saturday Mar 3, 2007 #

Bike - Mountain 2:00:00 [2]

Ladybower and Win Hill, wet and very slippery. No strength and skills lacking. Quite slow but hands and butt sore. Need to get out a bit more often than once in four months...
