Run - Terrain 1:41:00 [3]

Gougane horse-shoe with Darren, Shane and Andy. Very windy, hard to run in places ans the ground was sodden. Not a bad day otherwise ans no one else around. Regular stops to allow everyone to regroup so not to hard. Very enjoyable.

Saturday Dec 30, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:40:00 [3]

Run in the Nagles with Conor, Darren and Andy. Lots of ground water but otherwise a nice enough day. Did a 31 minute loop to wait for Conor and then continued. Slow pace but D and C still suffered. Felt fine but with such low efort it didn't really mean much.

Thursday Dec 28, 2006 #

Walk 1:20:00 [0]

Walk with Mum and Dad about Camerac. Beautiful day, claer sunny and warm. Spent a lot of time staning or stopping for the views. Not realy a training session.

Wednesday Dec 27, 2006 #

X-C skiing 1:50:00 [1]

First time on skis this year. Shanky at the start but got the hang. Went out with dad, did quite a bit but not much abouve walking pace. Another glorious day to be out.

Tuesday Dec 26, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:09:00 [3]

Up to Rennes-le-Chateau and back to the south. Amazing day again, clear blue skies and a heavy frost. Felt much the same as the last week, but maybe a bit better.

Monday Dec 25, 2006 #

Run - Trail 35:00 [3]

Esperaza. Was going to go around the easy way to Antungnac but didn't find the path. Ended going straight up to the bench - very hard work. Beautiful day to be out though - the sun was just burning the cloud off and the frost was beginning to melt. Felt quite good once I got warmed up. Short run but still plenty of climb.

Sunday Dec 24, 2006 #

Walk 2:45:00 [1]

Drove up to COl de Chioula to check out snow conditions. Very little of the stuff around. Went for a decent walk around most of the red cross country route. Cold and clear with high clouds. Not a lot of effort but and easy day was nice.

Saturday Dec 23, 2006 #

Walk 3:00:00 [1]

Up Bugarach with Mum and Dad. Another cold day, slow walk and stopped for lunch on top. Didn't stop much otherwise but it was quite slow. Legs feeling a bit tired from yesterday.

Friday Dec 22, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:40:00 [3]

Up to the Plateaux to the Southg of Esperaza. Still feeling the same but no problem keeping going. Bit muddy today so shoes got clumped up often. Bit tired torwards the end and cold and cloudy, but still enjoyed.

Thursday Dec 21, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:17:00 [3]

France. Ran from Antungnac up the hill behind and then back via Crux to Esperaza. Another cold and clear day and felt much the same as yesterday - ran ok but my legs didn't want to join the party.

Wednesday Dec 20, 2006 #

Run - Trail 58:20 [3]

Early start to fly to France, felt really tired all day and not much like running. Managed to drag myself out but didn't feel to good - ran at a respectable pace but didn't feel at all good.

Sunday Dec 17, 2006 #

Warm up/down warm up/down 8:00 [2]

1km slow jog on grass to warm down

Run - Orienteering race 54:00 [5] *** 10.1 km (5:21 / km) +100m 5:06 / km

O event near Worksop. Very flat and fast, part open grass and part rough brambly forest with hidden pits. Not at all exciting but at least it made me run for an hour. Started off slow with little warm up, got going in the middle but never felt quick.

Saturday Dec 16, 2006 #

Run - Trail 55:00 [2]

Slow run with Faye from Redmires up to Stanedge and back along the conduit. Lovely evening to be out though a bit cold in the wind.

Friday Dec 15, 2006 #

Note
(rest day)

Worked late and it was cold wet and windy on the way home - wasn't too hard to talk myself in having another rest day...

Thursday Dec 14, 2006 #

Run - Trail 1:05:20 [3]

Up Rivielin, added a loop straight up the hill at the end to add some distance but it wasn't enough. Felt dead tired for the first third but okay once I got warmed up and fine on the steep hill.

Wednesday Dec 13, 2006 #

Note
(rest day)

Project to hand in today, got together as a group afterwards. Running got forgotten about...

Tuesday Dec 12, 2006 #

Run - Orienteering 43:00 [4] *
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Night event around Walkley, plenty of steep hills and small ally ways - good fun. Felt quite good and was happy with the way I ran, still got beaten back by all the locals though.

Warm up/down warm up/down 17:00 [1]

Short jog down to start and then a decent warm down with Ash and Rach.

Monday Dec 11, 2006 #

Circuits 1:00:00 [4]

Tried quite hard tonight and as a result I noe feel well knackered. Can now get through just about all the exercises aside from the ones that require jusr arm strenght. Nearly there though.

Sunday Dec 10, 2006 #

Run - Orienteering 1:38:50 [3] ***** 14.0 km (7:04 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcons

Long O on Tarn Hows with track runs between control picking sections. Very wet and cold with a beast of a climb at the end. Took the first 2/3 quite easy and then pushed quite hard on the final big climb. Happy with the way it felt.

Saturday Dec 9, 2006 #

Run - Orienteering 39:00 [3] **** 3.2 km (12:11 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcons

Put out controls in Nibthwaite, steep and slippery nad close to breakfast. Nice forest but didn't try to hard.

Run - Orienteering 35:00 [3] ****
shoes: VJ Falcons

Shaddowed Hector around the second loop, still not a lot of effort put in but a bit more fluid without having to put controls out.
Missed afternoon training as I had to take Steve (coach) to A&E to get a stick removed from his hand. Spent 10 hours waiting in Barrow hospital with him.

Friday Dec 8, 2006 #

Run - Road 31:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Just managed to squash a quick road run in before heading up to the lakes for the Junior Training weekend. Still feeling a bit tired but didn't reallly put any effort into it this evening.

Wednesday Dec 6, 2006 #

Run - Orienteering 48:00 [4] ***** 6.2 km (7:45 / km)

Night training, Lady Cannings and Burbage mines. Still tired from Sunday, especially in the deep heather, but an excellent training run none the less.

Tuesday Dec 5, 2006 #

Run - Road 52:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100

Fulwood and Hunters Bar on roads. Tired on hills but happy running at a nice pace otherwise. Wet and windy - not a nice night to be out.

Monday Dec 4, 2006 #

Circuits 1:00:00 [4]

Actually felt quite good physically today, but was short on motoviation. Needed the fixed time of circuits to get me out to do something.

Sunday Dec 3, 2006 #

Run - Orienteering race 1:29:22 [5] **** 12.7 km (7:02 / km) +330m 6:14 / km

SHI ind. 12.7km, 330m. 92.22, finished 4th and first Irish. Very happy with my running, pushed hard throughout the race. Lost about three mins early on through a bingo control, course lines hiding detail and a hidden control. Got caught by Duncan but mangaged to pull away again. Al Buckley (local ?) won in just under 86. Ireland beat Wales overall :-)

Saturday Dec 2, 2006 #

Run - Orienteering race 38:40 [5] **** 5.3 km (7:18 / km) +225m 6:01 / km

SHI Relays: Ran first leg with Seamus and James. Started ok and was with the leading pack until I went to 13 instead of 5, lost two minutes. Ran on my own after that, managed to pull up a few places and had an okay position but was very annoyed with muself.
