Orienteering 32:53 [1] * 2.5 km (13:09 / km) +22m 12:36 / km
spiked:9/9c shoes: North Face Ultra

Pinckney UsynligO white course with my son. He did a great job and getting close to being able to do White on his own. Very nice morning for it with just a little sprinkle.

Some scouts probably going to head out on one of the UsynligO courses soon.

Island Lake State Rec Area (ILRA) UsynligO Red course. Beautiful day for it:

1- spike
2- spike
3- turned off the trail too early, had the do some veg bashing, but got back on track quickly... should have known the marsh route would be super wet with water being so high this year...
4- Just in case I didn't get wet enough the 1st time, another knee high water crossing. Overshot a little but thankfully there was a trail to bring me back
5- followed the hill edge along marsh for a spike
6- Was a little leery looking at the vegetation so stuck mostly to trails, but ended the attack sloppily from my AP, sunk in mud up to underwear in one spot!
7- Again vegetation looked a bit scary, but once I got close enough I could see the clearing and found a nice annual trail to take me there, spike
8- litte bobble at trail intersection but caught it fast
9- a bearing discipline leg, SPIKE!
10- This was a tricky one. Vegetation made it tough to go the way you wanted to go so easy to get sidetracked. Overall I handled ok until I got close and got sucked into wrong down slope, but kept moving and figured it out so just contoured around the hill back north to the depression
11- trail intersection AP for spike
12- didn't want to bash through green so opted for heading north to trail to cross over to other side of marsh valley, then opted for a decent route to the control for spike
13- ran basically east just looking for the big giant cut in the earth, spike
F- long run back to finish

Lastly, since the World ARDF Champs are now cancelled and moved to 2021 and I have no further nat'l / int'l races to look forward to for rest of year I am throttling back on the training and discontinuing tracking # of controls for the year. Next year I will get back to a serious training regimen.
