So there I was today, still in the Middle East, running 6 miles through trails in the sand, 90% humidity, 95 degrees F, sweating so profusely the moisture caused my hands to get water-log wrinkled. One has to wonder what possesses anyone to do this. Well, all I can say is it was much more painful to not be able to run for the long 6 month period of my injury. Almost seems like the injury caused me to feel a new sense of freedom after recovering. And although it can be extremely hot and sweaty during these runs in the desert, there's something sureal about the solitude and fluffy feeling of the sand under my shoes as I'm running that I can only find analogous to skiing through a fresh field of powder. Oh yeah, this was all at night, so you can probably imagine how hot it is here during the day!
