The Most Important Race of the Year.

We lost.

DVOA put our best team forward, with the best leg assignments, orienteered and ran to our capabilities, and lost. Nothing we could have done, and no other team we could have constituted would have produced a different outcome on this day.

Congratulations to CSU for a well done race.

CSU should win many more relay championships, but DVOA's prospects are mixed at best. The lack of new blood does not augur well for our long term success.

I will take solace in the fact that I have been running relays for DVOA since my first relay gold as a junior in 1986 and will continue to do so until they won't have me or I am no longer able. No one will ever doubt my loyalties or allegiances.…

Warmup before the middle. A cool, clear day.

SLOC Middle Blue.

Very good race. Lost 1 minute on 5, and maybe 25 on 10. Perhaps I had another 30 seconds of inefficiencies, but a lot of legs were perfect.

In the running, I had some flashbacks to the way I used to feel running. Which was good, although probably due to a chemical imbalance in the brain (like deja vu.)

TNT. With Tom on the track. Did 4x100 on, 100 off over last several minutes.

Last 20 minutes was under 2:00, and last 5 under 1:55.

SPM unconstrained after about 15 minutes in.
