Along the river. Caught up to Dasha on the other side and did some running drills and light jogging for the last stretch.

Weight training 15:00 [3]

Rocking the heavy bag at Dasha's mom's new place.

Note

Tonight we watched Bachelor Party, although in the end, it was only Sergey and I.

Unfortunately, this movie was unmarred by commercials. What a sad irony.

I like this one:

DVOA_logo2_on_white[1]

No. No width="100%" on this one. Sorry.

Cross Training 30:00 [2]

Level 8 hills before off to DC.

Note

Picked up a cab downstairs in Boston at 9:10AM. Was at Union Station at 12:30 and walked over to the NGA in about 10 minutes more.

Spent most of my time in the West Wing of the Ground Floor, perambulating through Renaissance and Baroque Italian and the Dutch Masters. Swung quickly though 18th century British and more quickly through American, but lingered in the The Voyage of Man antechamber as I am wont to do.

As I was admiring the Italian stuff, I reflected upon how fortunate I am to live in a rich country, which while in decline, will be great for a while.

What a great aesthetic rejuvenation, and much needed after all of this logo lunacy.

Note

In fairly rapid succession, we watched A Matter of Loaf and Death, Silence of the Lambs, and Twelve Monkeys. All such excellent movies, but the latter two (with SoTL one of my all-time favorites) both grievously marred by viewing them on commercial-laden AMC.

How apropos I lingered with Cole at the NGA earlier in the day, as the filmmakers, in a fit of whimsy (I guess--maybe there was more significance in the allusion) suspend work from another of the Hudson River School painters above the protagonist's head at one point in the film. I think it was a Bierstadt, but am not sure.

I suspect on jtorranc would know something like this. Anyone care to confirm and/or provide background?
