Hudson Lowlander at Harriman State Park

A beautiful say for this event: sunny and temps no higher than the mid 60s.
The Highlander was out of the question this year. Even the Lowlander was in doubt as my training this summer was quite lethargic.

1. Used trails most of the way. Was drifting right approaching the control, but gut there OK.
2. My biggest error of the day: I started too low going out of #1. Stayed on trails (once I got there) until the junction NE of the control. Then just cautious. It's not often that I take over an hour for one orienteering leg.
3. The intermittent trail wasn't much help, but I got there OK.
4 Missed the trail closest to the control and got to the one by Parker Swamp. Not a big loss, but annoying. Trails the rest of the way.
5. Followed the shore, sometimes on the trail.
6. Short time in the woods. No problem.
7 - 11. No trails. Just walking ever so slowly.
12. Back on trails again. Not sure I crossed the stream below Lake K in the best place, but I managed, somewhat wetter.
13. Was off to the right, but some HH runners going through helped.
14. Just get to the road and look for the building.
