HVO/WCOC Winter Series
Dater Mountain, Green, 5.0 km

Mostly sunny and 50s. Everything was wet from an overnight rain.
This course is similar to the Red, so I knew what to expect from controls #8 and #9. I floundered around a while looking for #10 until I realized that the control was in a south-west facing re-entrant, not north-east.
Had some trouble with watch buttons at the beginning, but those routes were straightforward.

Black Creek Preserve
There was only limited eel monitoring last year by the NYS DEC and included no volunteers. I believe that all of the sites are up this year, but with some COVID limitations: fewer volunteers, masking, waders for alternate days and distancing. The latter is hard as it's not easy for one person to pull eels out of the trap alone.
The only physical activity to this is the walk between the parking and the net site.
Today's count: 0 glass eels.
