Other (Mowing lawn) 30:00 [1]
Maybe two hours from beginning to end. Took care of some non-lawn areas where I like to hack down the vegetation every once in a while to keep it from getting too overgrown. Also spent some time watching the hawks.
In the middle of the mowing, I noticed in the lawn across the street, a Red Tailed hawk had just nailed a squirrel. He just sat there for quite a while looking around. After he started to eat, a couple (adult & Juvenal ?) of neighborhood Coopers hawks come by, screeching like crazy. Along with the Coopers came all of the neighborhood crows, also squawking away. So much for a nice quiet meal. The Coopers made several diving runs at the Red Tail, but the Red Tail held it's ground. Eventually, the Coopers gave up and took off, along with the crows. All was quiet again.
The crows devote a lot of time harassing the Coopers. I have also seen times when crows will harass a Red Tail, but they had no interest in this one.
