Other (Mowing lawn) 30:00 [1]

Maybe two hours from beginning to end. Took care of some non-lawn areas where I like to hack down the vegetation every once in a while to keep it from getting too overgrown. Also spent some time watching the hawks.

In the middle of the mowing, I noticed in the lawn across the street, a Red Tailed hawk had just nailed a squirrel. He just sat there for quite a while looking around. After he started to eat, a couple (adult & Juvenal ?) of neighborhood Coopers hawks come by, screeching like crazy. Along with the Coopers came all of the neighborhood crows, also squawking away. So much for a nice quiet meal. The Coopers made several diving runs at the Red Tail, but the Red Tail held it's ground. Eventually, the Coopers gave up and took off, along with the crows. All was quiet again.

The crows devote a lot of time harassing the Coopers. I have also seen times when crows will harass a Red Tail, but they had no interest in this one.

Running 42:00 [3] 5.64 km (7:27 / km)
ahr:140 max:160 weight:150lbs

BHAC/S
Another fine day. Like yesterday except sunnier.
Basic loop in 34:25. Essentially the same as yesterday, as I spent a few seconds watching a camp group fire off rockets.

Running 50:15 [3] 6.87 km (7:19 / km)
ahr:145 max:160 weight:150lbs

BHAC/S
Partly sunny, cool and fairly low humidity. With three days rest and a nice day I tried to keep the pace up. The basic loop was 33:15 which was OK, I'd hope to do better.
Summer camp has begun, but there aren't many kids around. The camp seems to get smaller every year. Maybe its early.

Recumbent warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Star trac. Alpine Pass program. Level 11 except for the middle hill which was at 10.

Strength (machines) 1:00:00 [1]

Usual set of machines. Yesterdays run aggravated the left groin a little. Backed off the weight on the Adductor some more to 160.

Trail running 1:22:20 [2]

Baird Park
It's been over two and a half years since I've done a long run here. Had to stop because of foot problems. Time to try again. Forgot my knee brace and my right knee was feeling a little ?? toward the end. Distance between 9 and 10 km.
Tried a deer fly hat for the first time. Four confirmed kills, no bites.

Note

Saw an owl just north of the water tank. Saw it because it took flight. Went just a short distance, then turned around and watched me. Maybe a nest nearby. Best guess is a Barred Owl.
