Note

Removing invasive plants with Scenic Hudson at Mount Beacon Park. Today it was crown vetch from one of their planting beds. This is the second time this year this has been done. Perhaps a never ending project. One thing SH is doing is planting milkweed in the beds. Since both plants can spread by rhizome, it will be interesting to see if one prevails. It doesn't look good for the other plants in the bed, however.

Sunny with the temp rising through the 70's. Very humid. Legs were tired from the beginning. FR was quite stingy with the distance today.
An impressive circular concrete foundation is being built next to the old wooden water tank. A replacement?

Note

Removing invasive plants with Scenic Hudson at a yet to be named park in Ulster Park. Almost seems like a waste of time to clear a roughly 5 meter square in a 300 acre park, but this particular spot is slated to be an overlook, with views of the Hudson River and it's east side.

Lovely day, sunny and not too warm. Tired, but able to keep moving.

Mountain Lakes.
Felt like spending some time in the woods so chose the Red course. Nice woods and great weather were factors. Only walking for the first few controls and then gradually added some jogging. A few mistakes and some poor route choice, but I felt good the whole way. Now, if I could do four of these in a row, I'd be ready for HH.
