Legs felt a bit tired but ended up being fine. Did 4 loops and then relay and collecting. Loops were great, practicing compass on slope and entry into control. A few misses but overall smooth. Really happy with this weekend and looking forward to February :)

More mass start fun. Number 2 followed Chris and ended up quite a bit behind, and had different gaffles so was on my own for most of it. A bit hesitant throughout but nav wasn’t awful.

This was pretty good. Feeling a bit sore after two hard days and calf felt sore but held up really well. Did some really smooth nav and quite a lot by myself which was nice. Mucked up the final routechoice, didn’t see the lack of climb on the straight route so lost a lot of time but still pleased with this. Excellent weekend to kickstart the year :)

Again thanks to Alex for shadowing, so glad to do some proper courses. Nailed this one. Nav throughout was clean, routechoices good, maybe safe at times but better than getting lost :) Calf began to get a bit sore towards the end, make sure to not overdo it tomorrow

Madness. Pollock halls was fun, and apart from some hesitation at 1 was really clean through this, picture spot on. Moving really well on the dead running then back in and held it together for a great run. Haven’t done sprint for a while so good to see. Thanks to Will for shadowing, much better than the 1.7k option :)

Plan to practise the approach to the control. A little lost on some hesitation and overshoots but some really good orienteering as well. Lost a lot of time on the death leg down the hill tried my best not break limbs. Fun courses by Jase :)

Planned route through Beecraigs and it was a good one. Started flat and then into a long slog uphill then a bit of down before a slight ascent to finish. Felt good today, legs moving well especially on the hills and set a decent benchmark

Bit of a car crash. Number 1 was pretty bad, tucked in behind a rootstock which couldn’t see. Clean around the next loop, a few overshoots but nothing awful, then came 12. Not clear attackpoint, lack of bearing and control well hidden lead to a lot of time loss. Looking back I was very close at one point but didn’t see it. Oh well. Some more lost in the next section with more dodgy compass. Plan was to make sure that I had a good attackpoint for every leg but as you can tell that went out of the window. Learning points: practice taking safe and accurate routes, don’t get distracted by other people and FOLLOW THE AIM :)

Format was you had to get all controls of a set before moving on. Unluckily forgot about a 70 which resulted in a major route change but the actual O was pretty good. Aim for this was visualisation of the circle and it went well. Just got all and made it with 10 seconds to spare :) Gradually ramped it up which was a bit tough but legs feeling great

Realised halfway round that I forgot to set a purpose for this but enjoyed it anyway. Not great to start, hesitant on 6 and then binned time on poor direction at 7. After that was decent. Some really nice bits in this area. Legs feeling ok.

New Year Parkrun - 18:01
Wasn’t sure if I was going to try for this but decided to go for it. Course was pretty rubbish, 3 laps of a loop with lots of sharp corners and overtaking and passing. At least it was flat. Went out steady and then ramped it up after a lap. Took the lead and held to the finish. Not bad time considering the course and how my legs were feeling.
