Ofest Day 1 MIddle
Pretty good race with minimal mistakes, nice to break my steak of bad forest races lately. Definitely could have run faster in parts but my left foot was kinda sore and my stomach was feeling weird, plus legs weren't to fresh going into this.

1 - Started off slow. Arced a little far right but found 4 which was nice to have for the future.
2 - didn't really read much of the leg, just ran down the trail till saw it.
3 - thought I could just run up the trail and then dart off through the clearing but ended up getting spit out the wrong way on the trail and had to loop back around. (Lost 30s)
4 - Fast, saw it before so pretty easy
5 - Cut along the earth wall thought the green since there was kinda a trail, but still a bunch of deadfalls. Hopefully what was the faster choice.
6 - good job reading all the little hills
7 - a small hesitation but mostly good
8 - swamp looked kinda thicc so took the trail through that. Did a good job reading the subtle contours.
9 - short leg
10 - a little slow up the rocky hills but a good bearing
11 - A bunch of people on this leg so I didn't check my compass as much as I should have and was off a bit at a different control, but relocated quickly (Lost 20s)
12 - May have not picked the best route through the thick and rocks but otherwise good.
13 - good
14 - A whole lotta circles in this area so started to run to 16 before correcting. Didn't see the group of boulders ahead of the control on the map so pretty much stopped as was walking around looking for the control until I started to read the clearings and made my way to the control. (Lost 60s)
15 - almost got pulled off by a control very close to mine on a cliff but stayed strong and hit mine.
16 - Went to the wrong control first yet again but relocated and got to mine quickly once again. (Lost 20s)
17 - good, going under the cliff was probably faster
18 - Solid.
19 - started good but then I stopped checking my compass and was reading the wrong parts of the clearing up ahead. (Lost 60s)
20 - the area was set up kinda weird so I was a little concerned I was going the wrong was or had skipped a control when I was about to run through the Ostore stuff.

Overall: Most of my legs went well, lost a bit of time here and there due to running off to a control that was not on my course and 2 medium-sized mistakes. Assuming I didn't make too many more mistakes I feel like I coulda made up a minute or two with some improved fitness. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with 3rd and tomorrow is gonna be a interesting race.

Turkey Trot scoreO
Was with Isak unit I lost 5min going from 21 to 19 by thinking I was further along the ride which had me running through some dark green for a bit until I finally got out to the trail which I had thought was a different one so I ran along it until I saw the creek and finally got back on track. Going to/from 23 I was moving pretty slow despite being on trails/roads due to my quads dying. Skipped 18 bc I didn't want to have to climb back up. Took some time to have a gel and water at the water stop. Legs were feeling better in the second half but still slow. exiting 13 I did a 90-degree error which was fine and I ended up where I wanted to be but I was super turned around when I got to the trail (Lost 60s). back to 6 was slow and was having a hard time finding a good route, probably coulda gone way around and it woulda been faster (Lost 60s). Pretty tired going to 11 so got kinda confused and thought I was in the wrong spot(Lost 90s).

Overall: Not feeling very good physically after a hard week last week and not sleeping very well this week. Nav was pretty easy but good practice running a longer O race. Def coulda cleared the course and maybe moved up to second or possibly first if I didn't make the 8:30 mins of stupid mistakes but such is life.
