Seat2 in the morning mist. Planned on 3 but I forgot cycling through mist gets you soaked, and then cold, so decided not to grind through another lap. Bit annoying, could have done with a nice warm, gentle cycle today, which I would've got had I gone a few hours later but work to be done y'know.

Auchingarrich.

Good stuff, back in some proper skog. Pretty rusty tekkers at the start, lost 4 mins to spud over the first 3 controls. But then gradually got into it, bar one 25s overshoot in the open, and only dropped 2mins to spud over the rest. A bit unfit, but also just unaccustomed to the race feeling.

Good fun but very slow and unfit. Couple of 15s mistakes but not too fussed about sprint anyway, managed to hold off the 1min catch from Narbett too. Decided to go hard and achilles seems ok, but skipping the afternoon race to be sensible.

Running a bit late cause of some horrendous traffic so just a little 4min WU (included in this). Very fun to be orienteering again, and another step towards getting some terrain legs back. Tekkers fairly average. Achilles mostly fine, nothing sharp but occasionally feeling a bit weak.

FVO local event at Coilhallan

Great to be back in some skog, despite having zero terrain legs. Forest was mixed, some v nice bits but also a bit rough and quite tricky. Lost ~1min on #7 and then took a horrendous route to #16, trying and failing to hit a gap in some dark green, about 3.5mins lost. About 8mins down on spud and spongey. Achilles held up pretty well, feeling a bit tired by the end but never any sharp pain, was being a bit careful not to really sprint up any hills.

Venturing up onto the links. Achilles feeling a bit weird, but still pretty much pain free. Felt tiny bits of pain on maybe 2 or 3 steps total. Bit of an extended lunch break from another day in the lib, funny how I'm there more now than during exams, where I mostly studied at home, but trying to make "work" feel more like work. Messed up a bit today by accidently going to the pool at 7.30am (again).

Left the flat and almost immediately bumped into Eddie, Finn and Dan doing flat meadows at 5:20s, amazing stuff. We did some good wiggling about enjoying the beautiful weather and also had a very random chat with Max Milarvie's mum who it turns out is the world's chattiest person. Few other pit stops too with us all nursing some headaches. Achilles completely fine, and no other niggles either so overall a pretty top notch run.
