Cycling 2:52:38 [2] 70.03 km (24.3 kph) +1407m

Over the cairn to Aboyne via the shed, then back after running. Swimming in lactic on the way back over, got it done though, sadly overhauled by a mammal on the way up bridge of dye.

Running 1:06:39 [2] 11.27 km (5:55 / km) +411m 5:00 / km

Along the road to Balfour and up Carnferg, then down to the fungle and into Birsemore. Nice steady plod up the hill, feelings decent.

Orienteering 1:05:06 [1] 5.78 km (11:16 / km) +208m 9:33 / km

Hanging tapes for scotjos. Didn't really appreciate how long it would take to hang this many lol, think it totalled about 100 mins, was deffo getting slightly less fanatical towards the end. Gonna be some very tough training, thoughts and prayers with anyone who has to do Loop A.

Swimming 10:00 [1]

Long enough

Much needed few days easy now, although do have some logs to split tomorrow rip. Apparently no such thing as enough food at the mo.

2 PM

Cycling 2:45:26 [1] 64.23 km (23.3 kph) +790m

Easy to Dunnottar with Dad.

Swimming 35:00 [1]

From the forbidden south beach at Dunnottar down to a cave a couple inlets down. Long old choppy swim, was pretty exhausted by the end, 100% worth it though for the dark swimming opportunity.

Running 1:02:04 [2] 10.28 km (6:02 / km) +350m 5:10 / km

Easy finella from auchenblae, completely oblivious to the run i'd arranged for lunchtime. Very good vibes on this, felt infinitely better than yesterday.
12 PM

Running 1:01:05 [3] 10.72 km (5:42 / km) +434m 4:44 / km

Hound hillock w CH, newfound running friend. Still feeling good, consistent grind-y effort up the ridge but good chat and we were up pretty fast.

Running intervals 27:00 [4] 6.48 km (4:10 / km)

Laurencekirk grass session
3*(3', 1', 2') with 1' between everything
Was gonna be four sets but just felt so bollocks after three that all I could do was lie on the grass and do some melancholic stretching. I think probably diet related again, doesn't take much cheese to ruin everything. Slightly sad about how quick I wasn't, not my day today but also don't have much speed at the moment anyway, just can't handle the lack of hillage.

Running warm up/down 5:32 [2] 1.08 km (5:07 / km)

Cycling 1:16:08 [2] 34.14 km (26.9 kph) +322m

Steady KoB/Edzell woods.

Swimming 16:20 [1]

Shorter swim, did some drills and tried to focus on doing one of the million things I learnt yesterday.

Swimming 10:00 [1]

Swimming lesson! Very little swimming, more just being abused for my horrific technique. 90 mins in the water.

Hunters hill fartlek sesh
10’,(2),10*30/30s,(2),10’
Decent little session, this place has really transcended from being a grotty little game wood to Scotland’s premier fartlek destination. Lots of undulation and mud to keep me on my toes, so can’t look too much into the paces, but work rate felt good/consistent, happy with not blowing my doors off on a session like this. Only niggle was last nights battered haddock which had apparently started swimming again by the end. Bleurgh.

Running warm up/down 20:30 [2] 3.51 km (5:50 / km) +104m 5:05 / km

Wd. Stomach in tatters had to keep stopping.

Running 44:01 [1] 7.62 km (5:47 / km) +144m 5:17 / km
ahr:132 max:144

Easy from stoney out to Dunnottar castle and back through the woods. Feeling surprisingly agile but tried to be disciplined with the hr.

Swimming 28:00 [1]

Back in the sea from the harbour, this time very low tide so just did some steady swimming round the kelp.
