on the saunders website for saunders preparation so i thought we should give it a go. lost my appetite today for some reason so didn’t fuel well enough for this and also it was pretty hot so got dehydrated quickly - same problems keep happening on long runs but i will get there one day (hopefully imminently as saunders is looming). gorgeous day albeit a tad too hot but some more acclimatisation for bulgaria, as best i can do. longest run ever!!

easy on hundith hill loop with emma!

feeling good throughout except from the end where i got my usual stomachy/thirsty problems - need to start drinking some hydration tablets or something as having solely water is obviously not doing the job. very sunny and the best company as always so much enjoyed :)

a much more enjoyable run out on the sunny fells. course was easy as it is a very simple area but no complaints especially after yesterday. running ok, more of a cruise than properly pushing but felt good throughout. sliced my leg crossing a fence, it had a foam cover over the barbed wire but there must have been some poking through as i now have a big cut. couple of people are blaming my tiny shorts so maybe need to purchase some new nike shorts but i blame the barb wire. i cleaned it thoroughly though and i am all up to date with my tetanus injections so it should be fine. loved it a lot and had a lot of fun out there compared to previous weeks thursday o which have been pretty stressy for an undisclosed reason. nothing beats the wcoc summer series really!!

last of the 3 battleaxe races and i was open womens & junior womens champion so yayyy

not in the best mindset for a techy area and course so this was a bit of a struggle. pretty poor in the woodland with a big time loss to #5 as i could not get through the bushes so had to go all the way round on the track which was not optimal. slightly better in the open but was really lacking motivation here so very steady. i think i got a bit demoralised early on with the rough terrain so struggled to find the motivation - think i need to work on keeping resilient even when the terrain isn't great as i usually get very caught up in this and my race starts going badly. post race bbq made everything better though and a lovely night too :)

corndon hill middle - 9th on brown and 2nd W18

nav was good apart from a very tiny mistake at #20 where i saw the control but didn’t think it was mine so carried on on my original line but then saw the path which confirmed that it was my control - only like 10s max though. happy with my nav but it was a lot like a wcoc area so that probably explains why i found it very good. running was pretty good and i felt pretty comfortable throughout, possibly not pushing as hard as i could if i was fresh and had not been camping the past 2 nights. pretty happy with my run and result and this weekend as a whole, feel like my fitness is coming along nicely too.
