6th W16 again. another mediocre run, nav was pretty good apart from a small overshooting at #10 and a bad route to #14. feel like i’m stuck in a bit of rut at the moment but i am going to keep fighting, need to keep up the physical sessions to get some speed. looking onwards to JK and some much needed mental recovery in easter holidays :))

6th W16. good nav, some hesitations here and there but nothing bad. speed was definitely the problem here, just not fast enough yet but i will continue to work on that. decent result, still in contention but just not keeping up with the faster ones. on to the long!

good to have the warm up map, did some route-choice exercises and some other exercises with my dad in the area. probably longest warm up i’ve ever done - seemed to help though!

orienteering race 13:27 [4] 2.69 km (5:00 / km) +18m 4:50 / km

gb selection sprint - cramlington

3rd W16! good to lay down a solid sprint result, nothing that can’t be improved upon though. nav was good, maybe could have taken a straighter route to #1 but mine avoided all the corners so maybe it was better, will check later. so much better on the mental side of things, need to make sure i carry it on. speed was good, really pushing when i could and taking it back a bit when it got tricky. v happy to get 3rd (2 seconds behind 2nd!) and that my mental attitude is on the up :))

window course - blakely raise

too low at #8, quite a long leg so came off my bearing and also saw another control which confused me but found it reasonably okay. another mistake at #9 but not my fault this time, got the control and it was the wrong number so got very confused but then the planner came and told us so just went back, annoying though. overall pretty good nav today, good to get some compass bearing practise in, just need to make sure i stay on the line. legs feeling fine, just jogging around today so no big impact on them.

plan, direction, picture course + collecting controls

didn’t go full out on this but definitely not too easy either. enjoyed this course. focused on flowing through the control and taking precise compass bearings which both went well, no mistakes but feeling like i am a bit nervous through tough terrain so something to work on. overall v positive + feeling good!
