Picked up my map and ran off looking for #156. Did a bearing into the control but it was #106. There were no other features in the block so very confused. Ran round a bit then checked the descriptions on the map. Turns out it was a brown map in the blue box so went back to swap it but couldn’t restart so knew I was already down on time. Never really got into it because I was pissed so sort of gave up before I even started. Got back into it for the last 6 ish controls. Had a nice race with a person chatting away to themselves. Ah well. Nice area - the brambles.

Had absolutely no clue where we were from 4km till about 8.5km. Tommy said ‘go right’. Was meant to be left... Ran high of Adrenalin and put in some fast k’s then found dad who was looking for us and walked back up the hill.
Sussex XC champs u20 Aim was just to jog round without injuring the ankle and finish. Managed to stick with Jess much longer than last year even though training has been non existent. Got dropped on the last hill but managed to overtake two people and stay infront of the pack behind. Nice tempo run. I hate cross country but it does make you realise how much better orienteering is.
