Thank goodness I didn't have to run ( OK crawl ) the 630m climb the planner promised. Doesn't mean I wasn't about as knackerdly shattered is I've ever been. I cannot understand how Mountain Marathoners can run up so many hills without walking. Whoever says the sooth is flat should have come to the southern champs 2018! Granny Chocolates Chocolate cake was about the best recovery food I've ever tasted. Got really sore arches from climbing but also found that beating your chest like a Gorilla really helps with motivation on the big climbs.

Southern Night Champs on Puttenham Common. I originally planned to play it steady because of tomorrow but that plan fell to shreds when Phil Vokes steamed past. Then got us both lost - sneakily found the control without him noticing but then got lost so watched him disappear again. Quite a few smallish errors like jumping into the wrong bushes and stopping short but overall managed to keep my CAR going well.

Hindleap South KNC. 1 hour odds and evens score. Managed to collect all the controls which was nice but took a bit of a bad route choice at the end which almost gave the race away to Captain Crickmore who id been playing chase with (leisurely) for the whole race. Shins a wee bit shore:(

3 x 5(300m hard, 100m jog) 4min jog. I felt mentally quite tired so could only get down to a 50sec average. Pretty long session but managed to keep up steady times.

Easy reverse of the Chiddinglye loop after a very exciting Volleyball Match. My serves were awful but everything else was pretty good and did some good 3 part plays.

1.5km WU, 7.5km tempo. It was sooo muddy for the first km but was only really muddy by the end, thank goodness! It was cold and wet but my wooly long-sleeve worked like a dream, although I had to add a little distance because of some frisky roses. It was a really hard, fun run but i probably won't be doing it again as I couldn't get going that fast.
