Basic loop to the Trig. Love this route and miss it living away. Perfect conditions and felt good.

Running intervals 15:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (5:00 @5) 1.78 mi (8:26 / mi) +4m 8:22 / mi
ahr:151 max:184

10*30s(1minute) after parkrun. Quite controlled, but still a good pace.

Running tempo 16:30 [3] 3.1 mi (5:19 / mi) +27m 5:11 / mi
ahr:156 max:185

Chase parkrun. Saw Gratton and James who both went off stupidly competitive. Never had a plan on racing it so kept it controlled with the idea of keeping racing for races and training for training. Got a cold, but legs felt strong enough to keep through the session nicely.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Note
(rest day)

Travel day back home and had been in uni/doing uni work/shopping for Megs most of the day. Found a shop that sells a metal aeropress filter in Moor Market (Amazon wouldn’t arrive in time). Very wet day in Sheffield. Train home was too busy so just sat in first class instead and tried my new sketchbook. Nice rest day.

Running 40:00 [3] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Shuoc intervals. 2on1off for 8reps. Nice session running with Toby for most of it. Did become a bit of a race towards the end, but held back and kept sensible. Racing is for races and all that. Some strides after just because coach Keith says to do strides after sessions. Enjoyed. Legs felt surprisingly good and strong, think the spikes helped that though.

Running 2:30:00 [1] 13.5 mi (11:07 / mi) +500m 9:58 / mi

Headstone with Ben, Joe, Alex, Nog and Dom the fresher. Was only mean to be a standard Riv, so unsure how we ended up climbing Wyming from the reservoir to Headstone, it was a very nice run though. Did appreciate Alex’s polish wafer bar thing as I was bonking pretty bad after having no lunch and only expecting to be out an hour or so. Ben snapped his ankle pretty bad so gave him some ankle tape a couple days later.

Running intervals 1:00:00 [4] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Hallamshire 5*1mile with 75s rest. First session back after a summer of not doing much training at all. Times were 5 ,5 ,5 ,5:05, 5:10. Not as fast as I was, but it will come. Being patient. Legs felt tired from gym and for some reason wore Hokas. Not great for a track session.

Running 25:00 [1] 3.7 mi (6:45 / mi)

Treadmill after first lecture back. Felt good, but should have brought a vest and the hokas. Good pace and felt easy.

Strength and conditioning. 1:00:00 [1]

Single leg box jumps, split squats, leg press and core. Nice session. Enjoyed being back in the gym.
