Was going to do BC cup 2 's mass skate skate event but woke up way to sick to do anything at all. Yesterday's sprint was not a good idea. will probably be out of commission for awhile
went to revelstoke for BC Cup 2 and did the full 4 rounds of the classic sprint on their new (and scary course). had been feeling sick but felt as though it was getting better. basically did an interval session with lots of warm up and cool down
Tuesday running group (last two weeks just didn't work) did some 4x6min upper Z3 intervals in the trails below academy hill. considerably slippery on the way down but was lots of fun. haven't done running intervals in a while due to fear of reinjuring my hip flexer but it was all good (for now).
went on two training runs to preview some of the OART maps with David and Rachel. Didn't have shoes with grip which made things interesting. Still a little sore from the loppet but getting out for an hour of running will probably help with the recovery a bit
Reino Loppet (34km) classic. was fun in hindsight but definitely was not having all that much fun in the process. Was more of a running race than a ski race due to extra stick
first time in the gym for awhile. kept everything light just to make sure my body remembers how to do movements. too many people for my liking even at 6:45am.
decided to go for a run but wasn't really in the mood to go anywhere so spent 1:30 running in circles on the campus trails above the residences. got really boring after awhile.....
BC cup 1 15km classic mass start. I just didn't have good grip and so had a real hard time climbing the long hills. that and im not nearly as fast as I was. was still fun and it was a great course
BC Cup 1 this year in Penticton (high altitude roughly 1850m I think). was a skate interval start 10km that did not go over very well. first ski race of the year so probably why but just no teriibly ski fit at the moment. also very very windy.
