Tuesday Jan 30, 2018 #

Running 1:00:00 [2]

Very light run on very icy trails with shoes with no tread. got really good at running slow and small steps.

Sunday Jan 28, 2018 #

classic ski in fast falling snow. slow with technique focus

Saturday Jan 27, 2018 #

early morning strength.

Tuesday Jan 16, 2018 #

Running 1:30:00 [4]
max:196

first run in awhile, so naturally it was intervals. MAS 3x2min with 1.5x rest. was planning on two sets but decided to not injure myself

I also noticed that i don't bother putting the intensity below 3. well....

Skiing race 2:30:00 [5]
ahr:184

Kelowna apple loppet (skiathlon). big improvement on MSA. somehow

Saturday Jan 13, 2018 #

Skiing 1:45:00 [3]

classic technique work with graham mclean so naturally included a few natural intervals. getting ready for racing again tomorrow.

Wednesday Jan 10, 2018 #

Skiing race 2:15:00 [5]

15km classic interval start. first 4km were absolutely perfect, energy was great and technique felt smooth and skis were working well. the other 11km was an exercise in finishing the race, everything went wrong.

Tuesday Jan 9, 2018 #

Skiing 1:45:00 [5]

skate sprint MSA. I'm really not having fun with these.

Monday Jan 8, 2018 #

Skiing race 3:00:00 [5]
ahr:185 max:192

30km Skiathlon at MSA. Absolutely terrible race. very slow classic skis and course not suited to my strengths (too much DP). approx. 1:30 was racing. warm up all classic, cool down all skate.

Sunday Jan 7, 2018 #

Skiing 1:30:00 [3]

pre-skiing course for tomorrow's skiathlon in the very very cold. lots of time practising the transition

Running 30:00 [3]

very light run in the very very cold. shake out the day before the block of races start.

Friday Jan 5, 2018 #

Skiing race 1:30:00 [5]

first race in MSA today was the classic sprint. The course definitely did not suit my style and I have some psych problems relating to my pump in the minute leading up to my start. all in all, a good effort but a poor result. hoping it doesn't cool down (to highs of -22C) so that I can actually do my skiathlon.
Honest wish I were orienteering instead.

Thursday Jan 4, 2018 #

Skiing 1:30:00 [2]

preskiing very poorly marked courses for the MSA NorAm and WJT. included 8x10sec alactic sprints and 1x3min MAS in preparation for tomorrow's classic sprint.

Tuesday Jan 2, 2018 #

Skiing 2:00:00 [3]

first ski of the year at telemark. got new boots in preparation for MSA skiathlon and had to break them in. it was an even mix of classic and skate, changing frequently.
