Toe still a little painful so decided to err on the side of caution and nabbed Dad's bike to explore the wider Forest of Dean.

Out from Caddihoe parking on Moseley Green, up the road by Blackpool Brook to Mallards Pike, up into New Beechenhurst on the cycle path, over to Sallowvallets to the trail centre and did the first few km of the Verderers trail. Then bailed due to worries about time, back to trail centre, quick lap of the blue skills track, back on to the trail to Cannop Ponds, back to Mallards Pike and down to assembly at the bottom of Blakeney Hill. Nice day out.

Spin out to Newborough on the bike with Nic. Lovely evening for it - there won't be too many more like this!

Note
(injured)

After the middles yesterday I had an unfamiliar pain in my big toe on my right foot. I hadn't really noticed it whilst running but felt it warming down and walking around the field after. I vaguely remember some tenderness on day 4 of the Lakes as well.

Anyway, it's still a bit tender on the inside of the toe around the interpharangeal joint. A small linear bruise has appeared. It's not too painful to walk on now but feel like I should err on the side of caution and minimise walking/avoid running for a few days.

Guess it could be a hairline fracture although I don't remember any trauma. It doesn't seem painful enough to be too worried about, but I don't want to makei it worse - I've just booked two weekends worth of travel and accom for Race the Castles!!

Edit: been googling. Settled on sprained interpharangeal joint. Not painful/immobile enough for a break. Still sore 1 week on though, will keep RICE-ing and hope for the best...
