Orienteering 5:48:57 [3] 19.35 mi (18:02 / mi) +1314m 14:54 / mi
ahr:145 max:189 shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 230

T-ball coaches around the world would be proud of me; I went out there to have fun, not take it too seriously, and maybe learn a little bit in the process. If I actually planned a route or didn't stop every 15 minutes in the first two hours I could've done a lot better and easily cleared the course (got all but 4; 92pts/100), but that wasn't the goal. Lots of bobbles and whatnot, but that's primarily because I wasn't really paying that close of attention (or trying to).

Happy to get a map in my hands, a compass on my thumb, and my shoes in the forest. This was a good start to what should be a fun season.

If you want a good laugh, check out 12 and 13.

Mile warmup, 8 miles race pace, cooldown.

Race pace has never felt so gettable. I’m suddenly much more optimistic about running a BQ time in October.

I’m gonna run for government on the platform of arresting at least 90% of the drivers here. It would be cool to not almost die on literally every single run.
