Road Bike 1:12:05 [5] 21.55 mi (3:21 / mi)

Still tired from yesterday, so a shorter ride more focused on speed. A little hot, but nice weather. Some different NY roads.

Road Bike 2:07:47 [4] 36.04 mi (3:33 / mi)

The final stop of the trip is Rebekah's sister in up-up-upstate New York. I'd been hauling my road bike around on this trip just for this purpose. A hot but fun time - a great place to ride! A bridge out added ~5 miles to the ride.

Hike/Trekking 2:48:10 [1] 4.55 mi (36:57 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (yellow)

Stage 2 of our trip was at Watkins Glen. We hikes from the campground down into the gorge - absolutely beautiful! We had some plans for an extension to this hike (the trail system is not very extensive and we nearly did them all anyway) but the combination of hoards of people, blatant ignorance of Covid mitigation efforts by many, and a tiring 4-year-old sent us back to the campground.
1 PM

Packraft 1:30:00 [1] 4.0 mi (22:30 / mi)

We rented Rebekah a single kayak (no way to bring ours on this trip) to paddle along with Noah and I in the packraft. We paddled down the canal and out into Seneca Lake, but it was much too windy to do anything out there. Hot but fun. Strava app on the phone recorded only 5 minutes.

Hike/Trekking 1:44:43 [1] 3.83 mi (27:20 / mi)

I planned a 2 mile hike that wasn't. Noah has been a wonderful hiker all week, but he got a bit tired during this. We headed to the beach afterwards to perk him up, but it was a bit chilly.

Hike/Trekking 2:53:45 [1] 4.69 mi (37:03 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (yellow)

We woke up to the remnants of a hurricane that we didn't plan for. We psyched ourselves up and hiked most of the falls in the complete downpour. We did see another family (dressed even more inappropriately), but it was probably the emptiest that the area gets in the summer. A bit painful and cold by the end, but a memory that the three of us will never forget.

Hike/Trekking 1:05:30 [1] 1.35 mi (48:31 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (yellow)

Finally a vacation! We drove up to Ricketts Glen, set up camp, and then drove down to the Evergreen Trail to hike, look at a waterfall, and grab a geocache.
4 PM

Hike/Trekking 1:16:09 [1] 2.37 mi (32:08 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (yellow)

Hike of the Grand View Trail. Nice trek up, a few geocaches, and handfuls of high bush blueberries (more than one person should ever consume) for Noah and myself. The only thing missing was a grand view...
7 PM

Hike/Trekking 1:05:05 [1] 2.3 mi (28:18 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (yellow)

After dinner, we walked from our campsite to the beach and back.
