Mountain Bike 4:12:00 [2] 43.38 mi (5:49 / mi)
Anniversary weekend in Jim Thorpe. Rebekah wanted to bike the Lehigh Gorge Trail. We started at Glen Onoko Falls and biked to White Haven. She had expected 26 miles one way, but it was only 21+ (I think the 26 was from downtown Jim Thorpe). The town was bustling with the Fall Foliage Festival, so biking from the campground was nixed quickly. We had a wonderful time learning about the area. As beautiful as it was, the history was just as interesting. Also really enjoyed getting back to the location of National 2017, seeing some places in the daylight for the first time.
The weather was chilly but generally nice. We did get some rain when we got near Hickory Run. The weather never really warmed, staying in the 40s for the entire ride. My fingers and toes were rather useless by the end. Would love to return to do more sometime!
We also ran into Brian Reiss south of Rockport, running on the trail. I guess I can go back and try that sometime too...
