Road Bike 1:17:23 [2] 17.19 mi (4:30 / mi)

Ride to pick up the Volvo. It was incredibly hot (~93 when I started), but I managed it extremely well. Long sleeve sun shirt, copious amounts of sunscreen, extra hydration, and not pushing too hard. Really happy with how I felt in the heat - seems like my body is turning a corner. Flatted 2/3 of the way through - quick change that held just fine.

Sprint-o at Springton Manor. Still hot (but not as much as earlier), and my hydration from after my bike ride home was sitting in my stomach like a brick, which began slowing me down after ~8 minutes. Course was on a small section of map, but was fun and quick. No errors that I can think of.

Holy Thunderstorm!! Went from overcast to dripping to raining to lightning to thunder to pouring to sideways rain to getting pushed backwards by wind to branches blowing off trees and protecting my face from the rain with my map. I think I was the only person "smart" enough to be finishing the course during the storm, but I had gotten to a point of no return where finishing made the most sense. The storm seems to have made me run faster too! Loads of fun and very memorable.

ETA - After the results finally arrived (there were computer issues at the event) I realize that I was the victim of my first ever MP - I somehow didn't punch number 3. I know that it was right at the time that I saw the biggest lightning strike in the distance, so I'm going to blame that. I have a strong memory of seeing the flag, checking the code, and moving on past it, but my GPS didn't ping there, so I must be making things up? It was tricky as 1-4 were in a small area, and 3 was directly between 2 and 4. Oh well. Time to start another life-long streak.
