Sprint training, I didn't run as hard as I could, my legs couldn't handle running downhill for another day. Technically it went quite well, made some sub-optimal route choices but no mistakes. Interesting terrain, JWOC should be fun!

Orienteering 54:51 intensity: (6 @0) + (2:36 @1) + (1:43 @2) + (3:28 @3) + (6:16 @4) + (40:42 @5) 7.16 km (7:40 / km) +231m 6:36 / km
ahr:178 max:194

Mass start training, wasn't able to keep up with the pack for very long. Had a very good technical race however, made very few mistakes and I didn't make the same kinds of mistakes as last time. It was fun to feel like I had learned how to navigate in this terrain.

Orienteering 34:40 intensity: (15 @0) + (8:07 @1) + (14:19 @2) + (7:38 @3) + (4:05 @4) + (16 @5) 3.45 km (10:02 / km) +103m 8:44 / km
ahr:150 max:179

Sprint training, ran it with Jessica. We met up at each control and ran different route choices to compare. The terrain was very hilly, lots of the best routes had little or more uniform climb, as apposed to a very steep hill all at once. Most of the navigation is quite easy, but finding the correct route can be difficult.

Orienteering 56:09 intensity: (4 @0) + (13 @1) + (2:37 @2) + (13:48 @3) + (21:11 @4) + (18:16 @5) 6.54 km (8:35 / km) +205m 7:25 / km
ahr:172 max:186

Second training in Turkish forests. The terrain is much nicer than the stuff from yesterday, the white forest is super runnable and this terrain had several clear trails to use. The green is still impossible to run through, and the heat is absolutely the worst part of running here. I made a couple of mistakes, mostly because I tried to fight my way through the dense terrain. Lots to learn!

Orienteering 1:16:19 intensity: (9 @0) + (4:42 @1) + (17:40 @2) + (16:03 @3) + (19:59 @4) + (17:46 @5) 7.02 km (10:52 / km) +224m 9:23 / km
ahr:165 max:190

First training in Turkey! Terrain was very challenging, very dense with a bunch of spiky bushes and vines. Made a very big mistake going to the second control, at least it gave me a good chance to check out the terrain. The greens were all pretty rough to get through, absolutely not terrain that I've encountered before. Should be fun!

Orienteering intervals 29:42 intensity: (6 @0) + (1:20 @1) + (5:20 @2) + (6:15 @3) + (3:34 @4) + (13:07 @5) 4.08 km (7:17 / km) +103m 6:28 / km
ahr:175 max:198

Sprint training, we ran it interval style with mass starts at every 3rd control. The course/terrain wasn't very technical, mostly roads with clear intersections and very few other details. The terrain was quite hilly though, so it was certainly a very good physical workout.
