Watt bike with maia. Did a pretty naughty wee session of 4x15(45), 30(30), 45(15), 60(60), 45(15), 30(30), 15(45) with 3 mins in between sets. Sounds easy but believe it wasn’t. Sweating more than I may have ever done. Tester run tomorrow can’t come soon enough. Fair to say the chafing situation is not good - there is a reason the pros don’t wear split shorts.

Another big bosh on the watt bike (including 20min tempo of which the last 5 mins were quicker), made much more enjoyable by World Cup knock out spectating. Highlights included Ralph merking the swedes and meg’s awesome run. Basically a win in my book, and an undoubted moral victory cos she didn’t do a deplorable scandi flop upon finishing - its 7 minutes, get a grip.

Watt bike again. Did a 15 minute effort in the middle which was a bit sweaty but I was watching Tom fletcher’s wedding speech - always passes the time. Then switched to some cycling highlights to see how it’s actually done. Already much much less feels from hamstring today - things definitely going in the right direction!

Another day another time to look like a punter. On the watt bike with Henry and Maia (separate bikes, to clarify). Did 6x5(2) at a tempo effort which raised my heart rate somewhat but also meant I was quite literally dripping sweat. God I miss outside exercising.
That being said, Henry was sweating more than any human I think I’ve ever seen. Kept me entertained and was defo the only way I got through an hour of this with no headphones.

Hour on the cross-trainer. Can think of more enjoyable ways to spend an afternoon. Listened to an extremely earnest and boring french podcast then moved swiftly onto hamilton to lighten the mood. Was worried about not being able to work hard enough but got a real sweat on with this which was excellent.

Hmm... not a good one tonight. Pretty much, had noticed some slight tightness in the right hamstring on Sunday but it had faded by Monday/this morning so kind of assumed it was fine. Then during the session it started to flare up and I knew it was best to call this after 3 sets (as supposed to the allocated 4). Feels not amazing now but I think it's just gonna be a case of dropping the mileage (which may have caused this is in the first instance?) and cross training for the rest of the week.
Not too fussed about this because I was planning on taking either this week or next week off sessioning so will just do that from now on. Slightly worrying but I don't think it's too big an issue if addressed properly.

Morning miles down to grantchester then some churchill laps with rennie and ellie. Caused a minor car accident about 7 minutes in whilst crossing a road (on the green man I hasten to add) and the second car in the queue forgot about the whole stopping and not crashing into another car thing.
I slunk away as he looked set to receive the bollocking of his life from the woman in front.
