Note

Having a bit of reflection about the best way forward in terms of training at the moment. Was gutted that EYJOC was cancelled (although fair enough) as I really thought this season could have a sort of climax to it.
I guess the next thing on the horizon is the XC season, but I mean the way things are going that’s quite unlikely to happen I reckon. So maybe it’s time for a rest, last time I had a proper rest of more than one day was new year! As always we’ll work it out..

7 hills.
Wanted a change of scenery so joined the school run with the parents and set off from MES. Nice being back in corstorphine woods which was where I did the bulk of my weekday training last year.
Bit of a slog to craiglockhart and busy to braids with the traffic but really enjoyed descending off that.
Went for a very straight route up blackford which nearly worked but I got stuck in some serious gorse. Powered through tho cos I’m huge.
Straight down off there to drop a key at the grandparents. Arthur’s seat was super quiet - had the summit to myself. Then not much to say about calton and castle rock before boosting to Haymarket for the bus home.
Felt great throughout and made it through on one gel and a swig of water. Lovely morning. Good stuff all round

Felt pretty rubbish/lethargic on the jog there but just decided to push through and sure enough I felt fine once I started. 10T was pretty good. Started a bit slow on the first short rep but improved as I went. Decent and pleased to get it done
