Running 42:10 [3] 9.02 km (4:40 / km)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 11

No GPS cos someone decided to borrow my garmin yesterday and not charge it afterwards then upload it onto my log. What a disgrace.

Anyway a very positive run round Avon with a taped ankle. No pain or problems- yay! Just gonna keep building. Have entered green for the SOL next weekend which should be a good taster in terrain

Cross Training 1:47:48 [3]
ahr:149 max:188

41.04km +559m

avg speed 22.9kmph

Went round Abercorn into Winchburgh to meet Felix to show him some naughty West Lothian climbs. The next 15k was into a filthy filthy headwind up to Cairnpapple. Headed up the long climb out of Bathgate then went our separate ways.
Think I got a slow puncture just before here and noticed it whilst going alongside Beecraigs - on the basis that all the rest was downhill I just rolled down to Linlithgow putting as little pressure on the tyre as possible. We made it, just.
Cheers to Felix for the good chat and slipstreaming :)

Walk round long area finding some accessible controls. Nice area. Took lots of photos again. Very interesting and useful.

Fun story : I was walking along a pretty remote path at one point on my "explore" and there was a man walking along the path in front of me.
He was carrying a massive axe (About a metre long)
It's fair to say that I kinda **** myself and then he turned round, stopped and just stared at me. So I decided to give him my friendliest wave and smile as possible as I passed him, and was then praying for the next few metres that I wasn't about to be hacked to pieces.
Long story short he carried on and I carried on, thankful that I hadn't been absolute blitzed.

Anyway, this camp has been very useful and enjoyable. Turkey is cool (if slightly too passionate about their flag), even if you can't access wikipedia

Good fun sprint on the steepest area EVER. Some roads were at least 50% gradient which was pretty crazy. Strode out on the flat sections which was nice and did comparatively well because I started slowly so didn't bonk like most others

Running warm up/down 1:47 [3] 0.28 km (6:18 / km)

No pain jog round a sprint yassss!
Absolute great fun with a lot of fun interaction with locals - got a bike escort, directions, was challenged to a swordfight, had a stand off with a cow. and a lot of greetings. Very fun and didn’t get distracted by the unnecessarily loud call to prayer :) happy days all round yay!
