Great ride. Zero wind and corking weather. Headed out to the barren lands of North Lanarkshire before heading back towards Bathgate. Saw a wrecked car getting pulled from a bush - fun. Then over to Dechmont before round to Abercorn and home. Pleased with the pace and only needed one snack :)

Repeat of last week. Tough going into Edinburgh and got battered at Holyrood, which was very busy. Really didn’t enjoy the cycle path out of edin, was far too busy with lots of families on bikes which was just carnage.
With the tailwind I really went for it home and dropped some really nice splits which was really pleasing.
Getting used to cycling actually.

Molloy family championships. Took a deserved second place due to some poor map reading at the start and not being able to find the next control. Very good fun

Big one. To kirknewton over dechmont. Then along to currie and into Edinburgh for a lap of the seat before back home via the kirkliston route.
Roads were eerily quiet - felt like I was in gta or something. Felt good throughout. Loads of people out on the seat so had to take care. Actually got faster at the end which was nice. Very enjoyable.
Also tried arm warmers for the first time. Revolutionary. So practical. Perfect temperature. And, I’ve heard they’re a MASSIVE hit with the ladies.

Big one. Headed out to some uncharted territory around Limerigg before a big long stretch eastwards over Cairnpapple to Kirkliston. Felt a wee bit tired coming into Linlithgow but not too bad. Lovely day even if the crosswinds were strong. Lent my spare inner tube to another guy so was living dangerously for the last 29km.

Take 2. Chain came off about 3k in but very fixable but then nearly bulldozed a stupid dog that pelted at me outta nowhere 8k in. Managed to outsprint it to get away. Basically an extended Whitecross/ golf course loop but went down into Bo'ness which was a great descent before a long haul with some unnecessary downhill chucked in to get back up to the golf course.
Tomorrow looks set to be a belter so am thinking I might do the forth bridges.

Went and got all the hills. Got absolutely nutted by the wind coming down Cairnpapple but then cruising along the top with the tailwind, spinning at 42kmph on the flat felt pretty lovely indeed.
Then just braked my way down Kingscavil like a granny cos of a deadly crosswind but man oh man the section coming back into Linlithgow - there's nothing much more depressing than pushing however many hundreds of watts whilst standing out of the saddle going downhill to muster a measly 21kmph. I am yet to be convinced of the enjoyment of cycling straight into the wind - with the wind is where it's at. To cap it all off, I couldn't even catch a middle aged couple up the hill to my house as they spun along with their electric bikes.
All that aside this was a pretty enjoyable ride.
