Red course at Frisco Peninsula.

The footing was rough (lots of debris from all the pine-beetle-killed trees), and the steep ridges suck as much as I remembered from years ago. But otherwise fun.

#1-2-3-4-5-6 -- OK.

#7 -- veered off course when I saw the wrong boulders.

#8 -- Dead-on until the last ~25 meters.

#9 -- OK.

#10 -- "This will be easy!" And then I miscounted the power-line poles.

#11 -- OK.

#12 -- Kinda inefficient.

#13 - Finish -- OK.

I had dinner at The Rio in Frisco with a friend (which was extra delicious since I was so hungry...), and then I went to Starbucks to work on meet follow-up tasks and wait out the I-70 traffic.

- Checked annual waiver status for a few people (one name mismatch; one never submitted).
- Membership renewals -- database updates and email confirmations.
- Updated PHP code for the "final expiration notice" form.
- QA'd names & classes in OE2010 data.
- Updated phone numbers and vehicle info in member database, based on start card notations.
- Generated & uploaded Attackpoint splits.
- Sent invoice to SNSC team coach; sent invoice to one participant.
- Updated Excel macro to match new layout of the results table.
- Uploaded overall results.
- Several email follow-ups.

Headed home at 9:30 pm -- zero traffic -- yay.

Night-O @ Frisco Peninsula.

I think my favorite part was toward the end when I looked over my shoulder and saw the moon rising from behind a ridge (not a full moon but still huge-looking).

#1-2-3 -- OK.

#4 -- I was on the right bearing but stopped short and then went back to the trail to relocate.

#5-6 -- OK.

#7 -- Wasn't sure which way to turn when I hit the north-south reentrant; wasted time wandering back and forth.

#8-9-10-11 -- OK.

#12 -- I wasn't sure how bad the strip of green would be, so I went the really long way around on trails -- and not even the most direct trails. :-\ (I realized on Sunday that the green wasn't very bad at all to get through.)

#13-14-Finish -- OK. I'm glad I sprinted on these legs, because I finished ahead of the next person by just 34 seconds.

LoCO FIT.

No workout today -- just a four-mile group run.

The combination of 96-degree heat and lingering soreness from Tuesday's workout made this feel really hard. I ran 3.4 -- slowly -- and then walked the rest.

I was hoping to find some sprinklers to run through along the way...but my neighbors let me down. :-P

LoCO FIT workout at Davidson Mesa.

- Ran a half mile to warm up.

- 3-mile, 2-mile, 1-mile progression run. We had the choice of staying at a consistent pace within each set and progressing from one set to the next, OR progressing each mile, starting at half marathon pace in either case.

I had planned to do the second option (getting faster in each mile), starting at 10:00. But when my first mile turned out to be 9:40, I decided to stay consistent within each set. :-P Looking at my splits, it turns out I got slightly faster in each mile (except for mile three in the first set).
