Flying Pig -- Sprint #1 in Columbus -- super fun! I ran as fast as I could (even though legs were very tired), and I didn't make any dumb mistakes. Very happy I read the map correctly and didn't get tricked by the glass wall in between #1 and #2. And maybe I could have taken the other route from #19 to #20. Finished in 2nd place out of six F45s.

Ten days later as I'm writing this, I'm STILL kicking myself over my super-dumb route choice from #2 to #3. It was really thick woods with thorny vines and slippery, thick mud along the edge of the lake. SO DUMB! I lost a lot of time and dropped from #2 to #4 in the F45+ results. Sigh...

I got horribly lost on my way to #2 but found most of the others OK (using trails as much as possible). I got pretty exhausted due to the steep climbs and could feel my mental faculties declining (for example, going the wrong direction on the trail after the climb up from #2...heading off on a bearing from #7 to #8 as I was leaving #6 (luckily I realized my error after about 100m, remembering that I had just been at a water control)...leaving the trail network way too soon after #11...etc.). Sharon beat me by about 20 minutes. :-P

2017 US Night-O Championships @ Flying Pig (Eagle Creek Park, Indianapolis, IN). 1st place F45+ -- yay!
Mistakes at #3 and #5, and a very bad decision to cut through the green near #10 -- otherwise everything went OK. I used trail and roads as much as possible.
