Running 6:26 intensity: (22 @0) + (50 @1) + (3:16 @2) + (1:58 @3) 1.04 km (6:12 / km) +4m 6:05 / km
ahr:142 max:158 shoes: Integrators 5000

Jog to the start. Feeling quite scared about this whole thing.

Orienteering 1:24:45 intensity: (19 @0) + (5 @1) + (14 @2) + (4:11 @3) + (1:19:15 @4) + (41 @5) 10.34 km (8:12 / km) +95m 7:50 / km
ahr:183 max:191 shoes: Integrators 5000

Plenty of room for improvement here! First - mega heart rate! Second, I headless chickened the first 5 or so controls, which was very unsatisfying as the woods were beautiful. Then got it together and was mostly okay, except for the first control in the shooting range bit. Very tired by the plantation forest bit, and struggled across the open ground at the end, with a banana to 26. Overall, happy to be just over 10 mins per km, and plenty of room for getting under later on in the week. Except the climb is getting worse and worse as the week progresses!

The girls Classic race. I am happy to say I can still orienteer but my legs felt atrocious, no power in them at all. Need more sleep!

Very very short very very tired jaunt around a bit of Inshriach on one of the Lagganlia courses. It was a bit abortive because there was a man doing a scary amount of logging around numbers 1-4. I was exhausted so that was probably for the best.

Note

Actually slept for about 90 minutes on the plane having had the most pleasant overnight flight yet, and made it through yesterday till 7pm without napping. Even managed a very short run and lots of strolling with CJ. Now however I am wide awake at 4 because I can't stop going through today's plans in my head. Fancy a run but forgot to ask CJ how I would get back into her house after such a thing happening! So soon I can lug my bag across London to left luggage at King's Cross, go sit in the embassy for an undetermined amount of time, then fill what's left of the day with Natalie before the train to Edinburgh! Yey! Then lagganlia tomorrow with the Ed Meister!

Note

I am in Scotland! And Kirsten just brought my attention to BBC radio Scotland who are doing an 'orienteering anthems' phone in! Amazing!

Quick very tired jaunt from CJ's to try to wake me up. It kind of worked for another hour or so. Lovely day with tasty food and lots of strolling round parks.

Running 35:01 intensity: (36 @0) + (42 @1) + (11:17 @2) + (22:26 @3) 5.07 km (6:55 / km) +48m 6:36 / km
ahr:152 max:170

Final run around West Rock with Rob before leaving. We took it easy and it was muggy. Was so stiff at the start from all the standing and pipetting, felt much better by the end.

Aim for Scotland: Have fun every day and don't look at the results. They don't actually matter at all.

Cross Fit 5:01 intensity: (3:21 @0) + (1:31 @1) + (9 @2)
ahr:118 max:140

3 sets of: 8 weighted sit ups (2#!!), 4 press ups, 30 seconds plank. Bizarrely difficult.
