DVOA Hickory Run! Loved this terrain and map when I ran it in Sep 2017. Same thing today, just a great time out in the woods, and gorgeous weather to boot. I arrived early and started shortly after 10am, in pleasant 62 degrees.
Technically challenging red course in quite subtle terrain. Spiked everything except for #7 - flag was down on the ground and I didn't see it the first time from ~5 meters away. But towards the end of the course, I did very well on the long leg from 11-12 (went straight and spiked). Perhaps due to overconfidence, combined with tiredness (I am NOT in shape), I managed to make a 22-25 minute mistake on #13. Found the stone wall, followed it at a distance due to vegetation, then veered too far north, thought I was south (though hadn't crossed the little ravine/creek...brain fog), and then just meandered. Why I didn't STOP, went back to the stone wall...oh well.
First time out in the woods since Tahoe (over a month, working too much). Felt great, and felt it in feet and blisters...
BTW: I accidentally hit stop on my watch coming out of 12, so there is a second track for the rest of the course.
