Note
slept:7.0

I drifted quite a bit whenever I ran between trails, I should have been more careful with my direction. I veered way off course twice, so I need to keep better contact with the map. The last few points, which I assume were supposed to be easier, took me a very long time. The go control was a phenomenal sprint.

Orienteering at Round Pond with female LTC Campbell, CPTs Kohlberg, and friends. I ran the orange intermediate course 2.3k. I felt strong today but could have made a better route decision when I chose a longer route with roads instead of dead reckoning through the woods.

Orienteering by Round Pond with Female LTC Campbell and her friends. I had trouble identifying the "ride" that LTC Campbell suggested I take to get to a point, so I wandered a bit.

5 mile run with Dan. When I asked him questions he sped up to get away from me so I would run faster to keep up and that continued the whole way and led to excellent results for both of us. Good stretching and 8 minutes of ab work to close out.

Competition 59:54 [3]
shoes: Saloman SpeedCross 3

I was doing incredibly well for the first third of the race. I was confident, fast, and precise because I implemented new techniques after learning from the AAR of yesterday. I planned my routes in segments where I ran quickly between obvious attack points and didn't waste time looking at my map the entire time. Then I planned a route where I would hit a trail and make two lefts, but I misidentified some collecting features including cliff faces and the sound of flowing water. I ran in the wrong direction and took a while to figure out where I was, causing me to add over twenty minutes to my time. I was able to make it back to my last point and recover, after which I did very well again. I should have been much better than this.

Competition 1:14:55 [3]
shoes: Saloman SpeedCross 3

Spent way too much time planning and identifying every single collecting feature on the map between points. With so many rock walls and paths, I easily could have sprinted to obvious attack points and reoriented as I went to save massive amounts of time. I also need to account for vegetation density in my route planning because I spent far too much time in thorn bushes when I easily could have circumvented them.
