Reverse Graiglash loop, cadence training and hill efforts. All the nocturnal animal’s were starting wake up so it was very noisy with all the rustling and birds tweeting. Saw owls, bats, lots of rabbits and maybe a wild cat? definitely not pure wildcat but something in there. Always get scared going past Sluie at dusk/night thinking about all the stories of the warlock stone and coven on witches lol

30 mins of Crathie orienteering at the beginning, then 8 of the balmoral cairns with kirsty, she says 8 is them all but i think there’s one on the lower slopes of the main hill close to the fields but not sure if it’s one of queen vics that gets counted in the classic cairns route. Really really enjoyed this run though, forest and paths are so nice up top. Foot pain was maybe a 1 near the start, went away for the whole run till it was 1/2 along the road at the end but physio exercises are definitely working. :)

(have lost my HRM) 5x4min (2min) on the green with kirsty. A big headwind coming from the west which was a grind but obviously got a nice tail wind going the other way. Stomach was a bit off from the start which is never fun and then thought i was gonna be sick on the last rep so bailed to a jog half way through it. Despite all that felt like it was a decent session and glad to get it done in times like these.

Recovery ride - a very random road/forest track route. Been really testing my roady recently, it’s a miracle i haven’t got a puncture yet tbh. Brathens, glen o dee, blackford and scolty, mount street climb, round burnett park, inchmarlo and then another shortened brathens loop. Good fun and wind dropped. Had a small shooting-ish pain L side of lower back all day and this has made it worse, going to roll/stretch it out and maybe spend less time lying in my bed.

Easy long run with kirsty. Muir of dinnet. Started by going up the burn which is slow going but fun. Bit of terrain running coming down of cnoc dubh. Went out to redburn moor which was cool and then back along the road and loch side path in the dark with the head torches.

Unplanned rest day. Packed up my whole flat and moved out which took a lot longer than expected so got home too late to do anything. Did a wee cycle round the meadows in the sunshine this morning, not training though. Also went up and downstairs with heavy bags hundreds of time so i am feeling pretty tired, overall just an exhausting day. 6 month summer holidays start now?

Nice and easy along the water of leith out to almost balerno, really like the route especially through the woods. Bike needs indexing AGAIN and also a good clean/greased so the chain clicking was driving me mad. Got home and was about to head to the library when i found out the exams are cancelled! Chuffed, a very lucky friday the 13th.

Knee was dandy but feet both started getting achy around the top of braids and were pretty sore for the run back through the streets, but a manageable pain and now that I know what it is it didn't seem to bother me as much mentally.

Note

Went to the doctors and it is tonsillitis so got some antibiotics. Apparently i should be feeling drastically better in 2 days. Haven’t been eating really as it hurts so much to swallow even water, got no appetite. Running the races won’t make it any worse the doctor said but going to just see how i feel on the days. Also went to see James Cruickshank about my feet, proper miracle physio he is. Happy to actually know what’s been going on the last 4+ years.
