Last ride of the decade! Wish it could of been a run but heyho.

Big grind out of the village and all the way to the top of windy head moor, saw brian the postie about 10 times cutting back and forth. Nice descent down to pitsligo then the main road to macduff. Went down to the beach, lots of surfers out so stopped to chat at the club and had my snack. Waved to caitlin on her boat then headed back the coast to pennan. Last bit is always the toughest, so much steep ups and downs. Really enjoyed it and the sun was out and the wind was good to me the whole way.

was going to do a recovery spin at the gym sometime today but had a wee kip in the morning instead, then went to the panto and then when i tried to go after it was closed. Marshalled at the tarland hill race in the evening but didn’t want to walk all the way to my station (basically the top) so drove as close as possible instead - overall a pretty lazy day. Did have to carry about 100kg of reflector canes though.

Boxing day bike ride - Into banchory to watch the santa run, waited at the top of corsee. Big turn out from the orienteers and deesiders! love to see it. Stood around at the finish for a while getting pretty cold and soggy with my free cup of tea that i didn’t deserve then headed off on my route. Took a long time to warm up, but overall clothing and glove situation was 100x better than the other day so was much more enjoyable. Standard loop but in reverse - Tilquhillie, bogendreip, glen dye (what’s left of it :( ), up and over shooting greens and back home by potties. Put in a bigger effort between trustach and home to get the legs turning. Weather was too miserable to do any more.

Cairn o mount summit with dad - planned on going to clattering brigg but we were quickly running out of day light. Quite like cycling with dad, even though he goes a lot slower he actually knows how to pace a cycle so this was nice and steady, unlike my usual sporadic random pace which inevitably always results in a blow up. The wind chill on the way back was ridiculous, absolutely baltic and started crying. Asking santa for some warmer kit.

2x scolty (only went up the tower once, does it still count?!) with 10kg of diving weights in my rucksack - pretty hard work! Got my HR higher than I usually would just running up. Knee was totally fine on the downhills, expected some pain so wore my knee brace but nothing at all. Beaut day for it.

Interval session - Forgot how hard swimming can actual be at high intensity, reminds me of the dark days of banchory beavers. WU, 8x3 lengths on (1 off), kick only, pull only, WD. Got the HR high and felt pretty worked by the end, pleased to get it done.

managed 12x36kg on the SL press with L weak injured leg, compared to only 18kg when i first started rehabing it so very pleased to be seeing gainsss. Still an imbalance but the gap is getting smaller.

Bit of a fail today. Wanted to go swimming but it was shut so decided to do my rehab then spin, but circuits class was on so by the time I got on the watt bike I was running out of time to get home to get ready for bof. Bit of a mad rush all over the place.

haven’t been outside for days so went for a walk up the seat instead of x training in the gym. Was out for just over an hour, knee was fine on the downhills apart from a bit patella pain on both but that’s not new. Nice to get some fresh air.
