pentlands run with all the girlies, had such a good laugh and the weather was perfect!

Shit thing is my L foot got sore really quickly and stayed sore. We went on the road on the way back which didn’t have a grassy verge for most of it so both feet were really painful by the end. feel like i’ve gone back to square 1. Didn’t hurt at all at intervals yesterday.

Cant come up here without a green loch run!

From loch morlich up the top track and down to the loch on the wee technical trail. Sat in ryvoan bothy for a bit to wait for the rain to pass and wrote our message in the book. K and john headed back, Luke and me went out to strathnethy, great views as always. Nice to have him running again. Steady back the main trail to glenmore and down the old logging way.

Decided not to do meall a bhuachaille, need to get rid of this cold/cough. Headed up to graigowrie with luke and john to spectate and cheer on the deesiders. The ground was a little bit frozen so made the usually muddy bog trail up slighlty more pleasant. Freezing cold so we had a lot of kit (and snacks) , i ended up carrying all of it in my pack and still made it to the top well before the boys! Made ourselves comfy behind the cairn with the marshals and waited for the runners. The descent was a proper mudfest by the time we left so a lot of slipping and sliding. Well done K for a solid run, will definetely be joining you next year. Getting bored of all this spectating.

Woke up this morning with a sore throat so didnt do a big cycle like i had planned. Dont feel ill or any different to usual but dont want it to turn into anything more. Just a gentle spin keeping HR below 160.

Grinded through the headwind to potties, up and over shooting greens to finzean. Went up through glen dye and saw that a huge chunk of prime O area has been clear felled which is really upsetting :( Had a mechanical at bogendriep so whipped out google and sorted that out whislt muching on a flapjack. Through tilquhillie and into banchory along the deeside way to get to Aunty helens for the family lunch, only 45 mins late.

This was a lot of fun! Post kindord 10km helping, so well fuelled on cake and soup. BNC M21 course.

Stayed off the paths unless it was really pointless not to. #1/2 focusing on the big shapes to simplify the complex detail, spiked. #3 bit confused with control circle, dont know if i was in the right depression. #6 too far east, tried to follow the slope but wasnt on my compass. #8,9,10,11 were in one of the nicest section of muir of dinnet, big ridges shapes, easy into all of them. #12 fell waist deep into an unmapped bog. Faffed about in control circle but eventually got there. Straight most of the way to #13, hitting the top path along the burn o vat and following it up to the top and in from there. #15 took easy option straight down the burn to the vat. Bracken made next few controls extremely slow moving. Nice little control pick section though. #19 took a detour up onto the hill to take in the view at golden hour, also nice wee throw back to my Advanced H mapping project, so many hours spent up there lol. #20 too low but easy fix up the re entrant. Last few in the moraine type bit was more bracken bashing and very wet but took nice lines along the eskers and ticking of shapes either side. Thouroughly enjoyed this, needed a big technical O session.

Lovely cycle with David and Peter from Linlithgow, hitting as many climbs as we could find. Some big headwinds but the kitkats kept us going.
