lonach gathering hill race- 2nd lady £50. Didn’t really rate that course, more of a trail race than a hill race. Buckled/bent my knee backwards on the last steep bit which hurt a lot but went away by the lap around the track. Sat about for a while and thought nothing more about it till i was walking back to the car and it was painful when i fully extended my leg, mostly up hill/downhill. Also sore if twisted. Fingers crossed it’s fine by monday for some turkish O and no muscle damage

wee recovery run - easy back way up scolty and down the dark wood mtb trail. Usual foot pain is back so nothing apart from lonach gathering before turkey. Going to start using a foot roller/spikey ball to see if it makes a difference

Post warm down. Was getting worried because dad had been out for a really long time, eventually he came back walking and had badly hurt his ankle so this was a quick dash back to get the car and get him back home to get ice. Kinda bad that basoc dont bring ice packs to their events :((

Camping at loch an eilan with dad for the weekend - Started at Glenmore, up past green loch and turned up to strath nethy just before ryvoan. Plan was to follow the trail up strath nethy to the bottom of loch avon but after 10 minutes running through deep heather in shorts i can conclude the trail doesn’t exist. New plan needed. Decided on bynack more, which is my new fave munro. Met another runner ryan just after strath nethy so ran with him most of the way. Good company and got a new follower on strava lol. Got the map and compass out and went off the track to get down quickly to lairig an Laoigh as the weather came in, cut through to loch avon then up and over cairngorm back to the ski centre.

4x scolty. I know I didn't do the classic route/order but hey ho. Only set out to do x3 but feeling fine and weather was lovely. Ran the whole way for the training benefit, even if power hiking would of been much quicker. Keen for the x5.

surfing day - 2h of coaching, half of which i was the only one in the water in charge of 15 kids (is that even legal lol) who kept floating away. None of them drowned so im calling that a win. Almost got kebabed by a surfboard multiple times though. Got a good 2h surf in after with kirsty which was lovely but pretty exhausted now.

(pennan-new deer-turriff-banff-pennan) Good fun, some big headwinds but didn’t really mind as i wasn’t bothered about how long i took. Lots of hills but equally a lot of downhills. Stopped for coffee and a much needed break at ethan’s (~45km in). Hit a fat bonk between macduff and gamrie.

Tarland hill race (pittendriech) - 1st lady, 11th overall. Legs felt pretty horrendous the whole of the race. R calf was painful but it’s been niggling for the last week and really should of taken time to stretch it out so kind of saw this coming. Walked the open section which i’ve never had to do before lol. Weak. Kirsty caught me up so put the burners on and dropped her by the cairn. Was nervous about my calf for the descent but it was fine. Not going to do anything tomorrow and probably just get some biking in the next day. Need some r&r after some hard weeks.

Ballater games hill race - 2nd. Bit too much road for my liking but the climb/decent was pretty exciting so that made up for it. Felt strong but first time doing the route so definitely could chop some time off if i knew where i was going/where the summit was. only 25 seconds behind clare whitehead which i’m well chuffed about, slowly getting closer!
