Fraserburgh sand dunes. Literally dirty miles - so much dog shit, broken glass, tinnies and washed up fishing stuff. Was a bit more pleasant once I got off the dunes across the estuary (which was a pretty gross experience in itself) onto the coastal path to Inverallochy but the majority of the run was in the dunes. Should of just ran on the beach as mum and dad said the sand was really hard and compact. Didn’t even get the segment as I wasn’t on the right path in the dunes. Pretty tough going and very undulating
Was planning on doing the hill race tonight but decided against going - felt very tired today and aware that I’ve been doing a fair amount the last couple days whilst still pretty ill.
Got another piercing yesterday and the guy at the shop said if I wanted to get rid of my cold I should eat a whole pineapple - fresh not pre packaged- so ate that last night. Had a very restless night, woke up feeling no better. Still can’t make it longer than 2 minutes without violently coughing.

Putting controls out for my dnc- still not well and this just made it worse as I ended up having to run rather than walk and had to do a lot more distance as stuff kept going wrong. Really happy with courses though and everyone seemed to enjoy it
took the day off school and training. Could tell I was getting ill last week and a weekend of training in the very wet and cold lake district hasn't helped.

Forvie DNC - windy, lots of marram grass and good fun. Clean nav between controls, just a lot of messy control circles for the first few. Worked on simplifying the map to high and low areas and focusing on the contour details nearer to the control. Got a lift with JG and drove on the brand new awpr opened that day! Got stuck in a big jam in dyce on the way there but can confirm with no traffic that it now takes only around 45 minutes to get from forvie to banchory! Revolutionary
Rhu Na Barclay TT - exactly 6.29 for all of them and didn’t look at my watch at all, kinda spooky. Progressively felt more DOMS from a weekend of urban training and by the last one had to really push at the end as I knew my start was slower than the previous ones. Really good important session

DR on the green 6 x 3, WU&WD. Didn’t feel very good on the way to Aboyne, decided to just take the reps easy-ish. Legs weren’t tired or anything but still held back. Sick feeling didn’t go away felt like I was going to spew on the last rep so sat out of the bonus 30 sec reps at the end. Don’t know what was wrong as I feel fine this morning.

Maroc training at carlogie - someone’s car got stuck in a horse water jump for 20mins so didn’t get to do as much training. First course was map memory with Ewan. Both clean and straight to every control. Then did a contour only windows which was a bit more ‘exciting’ - C2 didn’t hold my bearing after crossing a tight bend/loop in a path and started heading up the hill at the wrong angle. Ended up deciding to come all the way back to the path bend after wandering about for a while and re took bearing. Straight into control after that. Rest of the course was fine and dandy, really focusing on speed whilst still keeping strong bearings. Love a bit of classic deeside terrain.

Steady shooting greens loop with dad. Got a bit spooked up the top of shooting greens when I couldn’t see dads torch behind me and was starting to freak myself out with ghosts lol. Was a bit annoying how we ended up going out so late but had to get that ucas application off first - priorities
