Knee has responded well to some of the harder hill days i have been doing recently so will be starting to introduce some more intensity into my training. Fartlek on the seat & kf with luke. Warm up to the roundabout and then cruised to the bottom of mfd at ~4:45s which felt easy. 1* hard 1* walk up mfd. Had the first of a few quite long rests at the top, luke was feeling a bit shit and it was sunny so might as well. Effort up the seat and then more small efforts on whinny. Down to kf and did 3 longer flat reps, just random distances.

With Issy. Still feeling very dommy from the pentlands, especially my hamstrings, but moving okay. Nice and chill but with efforts on the climbs to keep running rather than revert to walking. Slight achy feeling in knee ~43 but went away. Longest run time wise since March

Caerketton and Allermuir hill from Hillend with Issy and Ali. Definitely not the fastest but making myself run up very hill in training, no power walking allowed. Need to get some calfs back! Overall a brilliant outing, good vibes and didn't get any knee twinges or aches. Most downhill for sometime and feeling like my knee was strong enough to really open up. Usually i get to near the end of my run time and feel like i want to stop but felt like i could of kept going longer today. Ali was tired anyway so stopped at the planned time and walked back to the petrol station fro Subway sandwiches. Lots of standing and walking about the rest of the day and minimal noise from the knee.

Big one with Luke, his first 100k! Train to Balloch, plan was to go all the way up the west loch Lomond road and loop past Arrochar and back to Balloch over Glen Fruin, but the Lomond road was so busy and fast we quickly changed our plans. From 10 minutes in i could already tell this was going to be a grind, legs just weren't working, even with the slightest rise from flat i felt like i couldn't move. Felt like a bonk but straight away. Took the old road through Glen Fruin and down some very cool hairpin bends to Faslane - very interesting seeing all the Nuke stuff, kinda scary. Up to Arrochar on the roller coaster road for a coffee stop and back to do a loop of Rosneath peninsula. Trying not to cry under my glasses on the very mild climb back over the hill barely pushing 7km/h. Thankfully didn't take long to get round to Helensburgh (Eilidh Town!) tucked in behind luke. Big thanks to the boy for keeping a very grumpy and wingey Eilidh's spirits up with good chat and jelly babies. Stunning views helped a bit too.

JC running from injury week 3. Waited and did the recorded session in the evening. A much lighter session this week and quite glad as i felt really queezy and sick in the afternoon, not sure why but i wasn’t having a fun time. A big cycle planned tomorrow so hopefully i perk up in time for that.

Kilpatrick Hills massively exceeding my expectations! Very fun climb and trails with K and L up to the Slacks. Feeling fine on the climb and the down hill. Slight knee aches here and there but only lasting a minute or so.

Another full day of (online) field work in the lake district, annoying that i have to wait till later to go out but very happy the sun stayed around for this. Good vibes run with Kat. Down to KF and already had to strip down to t shirts. Saw Laura doing a solo session so went to have a chat. Nice climb up the Arête and back down pipers walk. Knee got slightly achy here but didn't last long. Stood around for ages when i got home before showering which is usually when my knee ceases up but was actually alright.

Corstorphine Hill O with Kat, taking every 2nd control. New area for me, outdid my expectations! Fun course and knee was really good throughout, started to feel a bit achy at ~30 but settled down. Cut the course short to keep it at 35. Quite sore in the evening after but have done quite a bit of cycling the last few days and no rolling or stretching so think that’s why. Need to get back on top of things.

Summer is that you? Out to glen dye, finzean and then up to birse church. Birse road was busy with other cyclist which was nice to see. Best bit is always the downhill but was disgusting with all these swarms of wee flies, feel my face was completely clarted. Back over toms cairn and down rogers road to potarch.
