first 20min yoga flow with mum then did another 20min deep quad a hip flexor stretch flow

down to the river with amber. She wanted to go on the road the whole way which irritated the knee a bit.

evening mtb with dad into banchory along the river and golf course, along blackhall and back through scolty trails. Had a little over the handle bars moment but we move. 80% on dads bike becuase he wanted my big 29" wheels so his little legs could keep up.

Knock castle with joe and kirsty at ballater. Huge s&c doms. Really fun and a lovely forest, last time i remember being in the forest down by the river was in primary 5 learning how to take bearings at maroc training lol. Knee sore for first 3-4mins as usual then settled down completely for the rest of the run. Small niggle in other knee probably from tight quad and maybe compensating a bit. kirsty and joe

No real route planned. Ended up going to durris and up to the durris mast for the first time. Was just a chill easy ride apart from the climb to the mast, will defo be back to give it a proper go now that i know what its like. Started to feel little niggles in my knee around when i turned off the S deeside into durris and then from there on they came and went. Worse at the end. Dont think ill be road cycling for a while :( But at least ive finally figured out a trigger

Shooting greens with kirst and frances. Knee was sore after Goauch summit coming down the mtb tracks. When there was all the snow for the last few weeks i wasnt doing any cycling for the first time in a very long time, only running andn snowsports. Since ive strated cycling again now the snows gone my knee has been flaring up again during the day/evenings and feeling generally just more irritated and puffy. So will do a few more tests but im thinking the repetitive motion of cycling as well as my knee being fixed in cleats and probably not tracking up and down correctly is causing irritation in my knee (scar tissue?). Hopefully can get a proper bike fitting once things open up.

Cnoc Dubh with luke. Way more snow than we expected. A couple cm of solid ice on top of the snow which ripped our shins to pieces, really was not having a fun time in shorts. Spent longer at the summit trying to move 10m without crying than the time it took for the rest of the run i reckon. Dont really know how my knee felt becuase there was so much other pain to think about

Shorts and only 3 layers! Summer is on its way. Lovely golden hour ride around banchory and crathes, roads very very wet from the snow melt but not icy. Only good thing about the snow melting means more cycling but still very sad to see it go :( Wind was a bit choppy, fighting strong headwinds at crathes and almost died in the crosswinds at glen common. 2 hill segment efforts

a very snowy scolty with luke, looks like banchory’s new ski resort! My knee was sore last night/this morning but i think that’s from two days of sitting about doing nothing but being lazy. Felt less sore when i started running which is weird but good. Was also worried the walk with jenny this morning (also at scolty) plus a run would be too much today but it seems to have been okay. Knee felt strong on the downhills but both knees felt ‘something’, not sore but just weird, i think the achy-ness is just due to my knees not being used to the impact of downhill running yet. Got back to the car and my pocket was open and lacking car keys :( Used a very kind ladies phone to call home to come rescue us, but 5 minutes later the car suddenly opened! a couple had found the keys up the hill, a miracle since my keys don’t even have a key ring or anything bright attached. Hero’s <3

Muir of dinnet...with an unexpected trip to cambus bridge. Out for like an hour but only 30mins of running. Snow was so deep, laughing the whole way round, especially when we ended up on the main road! Couldn’t make out any paths after a while so decided to just make our own. Knee held up good, usual achy feeling at the start but went away, came back a few times but only for a few minutes. I feel 30 minutes is more than manageable now, preferably not in such deep snow next time. Highlight of today was kirsty’s pee stop location, maybe the best yet.

Note

knee sore after skiing yesterday, was borrowing Loren’s mums skis which were much skinnier than my mums skis so was a lot more unstable which put more pressure through my knee i’m guessing. Busy day with uni so a day off to let the knee settle. Just spread my usual rehab throughout the day for breaks from sitting at my desk
